Actually, it was Eisenhower who signed on the dotted line for Nam.
IMO, his biggest-ever mistake. That said, I’m still a huge Ike admirer.
Kennedy didn’t start the Vietnam war, you idiot.
She and my other hero, Barbara Lee, Congresswoman. She was the lone holdout in Congress
Thank you. I do remember that. I wasn’t quite sure exactly what Little Girl was referring to
You’re an idiot. Ike sent advisors there and there was broad bipartisan consensus on the “wisdom” of action in Vietnam.
The Viet Nam war was not started by a president with daddy issues.
Don’t forget ! They have yellowcake! With icing! WMD’s fur sure!
Maybe you missed that mountain of misleading bullshit,
Aluminum tubes for nukes? BS Other uses
Yellowcake for nukes? BS Never delivered. Poor quality ore anyway.
Mobile bio-weapons factories? BS Non-existent.
Vast chemical weapons stockpiles? BS Destroyed after 1991.
Bush and Cheney were going to invade Iraq NO MATTER WHAT, once they stole the election. Even before 9/11 they were going to find a way to invade Iraq. It’s all in the PNAC.
Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld where irresponsible, disgusting, very expensive slobs.
It’s going to take 100 years to clean up their trash.
I’m still waiting, with bated breath, for some reporter to ask John McCain if he thinks we should now be fighting against the same forces he previously thought we should be supporting in Syria.
But, but, but… “We know where they are. They’re in the area around
Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat.”
The Dick’s assurances sure convinced the fuck outa me…
…somewhat,
Looby
I see them!
I SEE THEM!
Look…THE FNORDS!!!
So are you saying they were not misled? Are you saying the Bush administration did not lie to Congress and the American people in order to justify invading Iraq? Is this what you are saying? Because if this is what you are saying you aren’t a liar ,you’re just too bloody stupid to be allowed out without a minder.
Another one was Senator Barack Obama
Sadly, he did. I couldn’t believe it either, but I have read many sources on this. This is one I just googled.
"Boxer was one of just 23 senators who voted against the October 2002 resolution to authorize the use of military force in Iraq, a move she later called one of her proudest moments as a senator.
I had the pleasure of meeting her on a flight from Washington to SFO, and she was charming in a Bella Abzug way, no BS, no girlie stuff, a standup broad.
Thanks Senator.
At the time I wondered about that, but once it became clear that the U.N. weapons inspectors were being given unfettered access to whatever facility they decided to take a look at, it was clear that the Administration’s line was just complete, utter, unmitigated BS.
You had to assume that the U.N. folks weren’t just taking stabs in the dark, and that their inspection targets were being “suggested” by U.S. intelligence (and I throw up in my mouth a little when I use that word in this context). This was a country that had been subjected to the most intensive satellite surveillance in history - if anything was being moved around in that desert, we’d have seen it.
But still, the inspections kept coming up empty. That was the “tell.”
It’s obvious that we need to send a delegation over there to explain to these factions what needs to be done.
We should send people with a broad knowledge of the issues that led to the war and an intimate understanding of the goals and desired outcomes:
Douglas Feith, Richard Perle, David Wurmser, John Bolton, Scooter Libby, Paul Wolfowitz, Richad Woolsey, Victoria Nuland, Robert Kagan, Donald Rumsfeld and Richard “Dick” Cheney
Ambassador at Large - William Kristol
They’ve all devoted their lives to this and I think that bill has come due.
Given that passenger list, might I suggest a leaky boat for transport?
