Discussion: Bannon Dismisses 'Ethno-Nationalism': It's A 'Fringe Element'

I haven’t got the measure of this guy yet. I know he’s trying to foist an alt-right agenda on the nation by whispering to Trump. But is this statement - indicating that he doesn’t actually support white supremacy but that white supremacists are helpful as a decoy from his real agenda - consistent with what he’s said before? Has he a consistent plan or is he, like Trump, ricocheting from one nasty plot to another with such inconsistency that none can come to real fruition? Not that Trump’s nastiness of the day isn’t harmful, but if he had enough focus to see something through he’d be even more dangerous. Has Bannon that focus or not?

I thought the same thing. Is there any valid confirmation that he has a drinking problem? Seriously. His face screams “BOOZE!”

Steve Bannon speaking to a group at the Vatican in 2014:

“One thing I want to make sure of, if you look at the leaders of capitalism at that time, when capitalism was I believe at its highest flower and spreading its benefits to most of mankind, almost all of those capitalists were strong believers in the Judeo-Christian West. They were either active participants in the Jewish faith, they were active participants in the Christians’ faith, and they took their beliefs, and the underpinnings of their beliefs was manifested in the work they did.”

Anybody who believes he’s not talking about white ethno-nationalism is fooling themselves. Judeo-Christian = white.

And this is aside from the fact that Breitbart itself is the leading “mainstream” media platform for white nationalism.

This interview by Bannon is a desperate attempt to separate himself, Bob Mercer, and by extension Donald Trump from the shitstorm created by the alt-right down in Charlottesville.

Every account I have read pretty much always describes him as a hard drinker (I believe either scotch or whiskey is his preferred drink), but stop short of saying he is an alcoholic.

But yeah…his face screams alcohol abuse. The red nose, the broken capillaries everywhere and in particular…soooo many photos of him with those red rimmed eyes.

Bannon’s had very public anger management issues in the past, and a history of domestic abuse. Yeah, he’s a chronic drinker. He also gives himself way too much credit for being a big-picture intellectual, and since there’s no one who cares about that in the trump administration, he had to babble to someone who would listen.

Plus he is a liar. He is deeply into ethno-nationalism. He has tried to incorporate its flourishing in Europe into the US body politic. He was an investor in the analytics outfit that helped cheat on the Brexit referendum and the US presidential elections. He is part of that fringe of which he speaks.

This is the first time I’ve heard a “big shot” in politics call themselves a “loser”.

Sorry Bannon, this was stuck to you with Super Glue and it will soon be your end in public life.

A liberal PAC needs to buy some ad time on CNN and the Big Three that is nothing but a list of five things Trump and Bannon each said endorsing political violence and white identity politics.

Yes. They are his Brown Shirts circa 2017. Once in power, Hitler got rid of them as they were a liability and lacked legitimacy. He had the police and, later, the SS to take care of dissenters.
