I’m almost disappointed that lowlife Christie didn’t get his cabinet post. His real-world impact wouldn’t have been materially any worse than the rats who did board the sinking ship, but he deserves the permanent taint on his reputation so much more.

I think of Christie as the opposite of former AZ Governor Janet Napolitano. The harm done to Arizona, by appointing the least conservative governor who could likely be elected there to head the Dept of Homeland Security, causing her to be replaced by batshit harpy Jan Brewer, far outweighed anything the Secretary could’ve hoped to achieve in Washington.

Christie is the opposite: the improvement to New Jersey would’ve outweighed the marginal damage he could’ve done, compared to any other rat, boarding the sinking ship.

Seeing a pattern here. Trump does something egregiously wrong, yet demands complete obsequiousness from his underlings.

Yet the government isn’t a private business. Cabinet members and others are supposed to work on behalf of the American people, not Trump personally. Of course, Trump doesn’t care about that.

I had a horrible time – kept getting a “this page moved” msg. For hours. So, did a restart of my system in case it was something not reloading properly. Nada. Then deleted browser history for the last few hours. I could see the comments! I was so happy. But I had to sign in to TPM again and, voilà, “page moved” again. HUH??? Was just about to write to the TPM team and ask WTF?? when the problem went away on its own. (I thought they might not love me anymore…)

This cuts right to the rot in the hearts of Trump, Bannon and supporters. Was Christie to pretend that the tape never came out or that it did not show what a total swine Trump is? If you point out that the swine is filthy, you are out. If you don’t have the stomach for Trump, too bad.

Also, a 100% chance of winning? Mueller had better be taking a close look at Alfred E Bannon, along with the rest of them.

That does sound like what Bannon was going for in this interview. (He also doesn’t sound that coherent or articulate for someone with a Virginia Tech, Georgetown and Harvard education.)
