Discussion: Baltimore Sun Floats Theory That 'Purge' Movie Fueiling Violence

I am not buying the purge nonsense. The movie was about a government sponsored purge intended to lead to the deaths of minorities and working class people.

Oh I think this poster more accurately reflects one of the primary causal factors for the rage in Baltimore

ā€¦and coming to a location near you if something isnā€™t done to improve police training and restore some neighborhood faith that the ā€˜thin blue lineā€™ is there to serve & protect, not maim and kill.

Or it could be the fact that this neighborhood is an economically depressed area where black people feel preyed upon by police and so are expressing their outrage at the death of one of their community at police hands?

Nahhh.

Couldnā€™t the Baltimore Sun at least reference a local work of art like The Wire rather than some pedestrian faux-horror crap like The Purge? I mean, given that the suggestion is completely full of shit anyway?

Blame Hollywood, blame ā€œthe negroesā€, blame permissive liberals . . . just as long as you donā€™t blame the police.

You canā€™t expect to have ā€œlaw and orderā€ if the guys who enforce the laws are accountable only to themselves.

Was that before or after eating a corn dog at the Iowa State Fair?

Hmmm, there might be something to that.

Forget The Purge, The Purge: Anarchy.

This is The Purge: Abject Poverty.
