¨In 2004, Sanders was charged with bringing a concealed pistol into an Atlantic Coast Conference tournament game in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he was shot in the hip when the gun accidentally fired. Sanders, identified in archived accounts of the incident as an off-duty Baltimore police detective, was working at the game as a bodyguard for Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti.¨
OK. You hire an off-duty cop to protect you, and he manages to shoot himself on the job. So you subsequently hire him as the security chief for the whole team. Brilliant personnel management, Bisciotti. Guess that explains the team’s smooth handling of the Ray Rice assault.
Maryland Criminal Law is specific about what constitutes a 4th degree sex offense – non-penetrative sexual contact with a minor by an adult in authority at the school that the minor attends and where the adult is employed. In practical terms, it means fondling a student.
Which Maryland school was Sanders affiliated with? Or is school’s name suppressed here? Was Sanders even affiliated with any Maryland school?
I’m not one to harp over the newsworthiness of something, but outside of his name turning up on a list, what’s the charge? I suppose his six degrees of Kevin Bacon to Ray Rice makes it sorta newsworthy, but this is really stretching.
