Update: The Clarion-Ledger says the two guys who were questioned pulled up in another truck at a residence the cops were looking at in connection with the original truck. They’ve since been released.

Not every state requires front plates. In fact, 19 out of 50 (including Mississippi) don’t.

Ms. Teen…you have made some observations in the past about reckless arrest and I agree with them. In this case the Cops don’t know if these are the guys or for that matter that this is the actual truck. They’ll have to do tire tred analysis and gun powder residue tests before they can arrest with confidence. If they get the goods they’ll make an arrest.
If you think white Cop’s are too quick to go the distance with a suspected Black perp I’d agree with you. If you don’t think White folks should be given the same consideration I wouldn’t. These assholes probably did it. If so a proper arrest, without errors that can lead to them walking, is in order. Give this another 24 hours. I think we’ll all be happy with it.

Not immediately, they just found a truck matching the description, and they are talking to the guys. Obviously if they find out these are the two who took shots at the military, they will be arrested.

The latest report I read said that the two men being questioned drove up in a completely different truck than this one with the “broken arrow” decal in the picture.
But please, don’t let that stop the fun.

Exactly. If these guys are the ones, they will definitely be arrested. This is not like Dylan Roof, where there was video, etc.

Thanks for reading carefully. Not everyone does. 
So, you think Mississippi police are going around pulling over cars if they don’t have front plates and are from other states that require front plates? But my main point is that over 1/3 of states cars don’t have front plates and people aren’t pulled for that.
Was there ever a doubt?
To be fair, they likely were politely asked if it indeed was them who perchance fired the shots, and on confirmation that it indeed had been them (all while they were wildly waiving loaded ak47s, screaming about oppressive “gubmint fascists who are answering to the false Kenyan prophet king”, and spitting in the general direction of the police officers), they were then offered several heartfelt apologies for the inconvenience of the soldiers being in the way of their freedom bullets. Which were then returned to them wrapped in a bow.
The police officers then proceeded to stop a car for “looking funny”, beat the minority driver for no reason, and booking him in perpetuity for “staining my boot with some of his blood”.
But it’s a great opportunity for people to play their favorite narratives (“boy they sure are racist down South”).
