Discussion: At What Price? Congressional Democrats Divided Over How To Fight For DACA

Give them 1.6 billion, protect the dreamers, take Congress in 2018, and stop the funding.

Shit we spent a lot more in Iraq and got nothing for it. This war is worth fighting.

Our economy will take a greater than 1.6 billion dollar hit if we deport them… Enough GOPers think that a physical wall is demented that you can probably get most of that money earmarked for very expensive surveillance equipment.

I’m not sure we should be doing yet another “Democrats in disarray” over this. Laying all the cards on the table has not worked well in the past when negotiating with rabid weasels.

Something like a $215 Billion hit.

In truth Dems will have leverage within a week. It’s called funding Florida disaster relief. Look at it this way …

… if Irma hits that state (and likely a few more) they’re going to need the money.

Sure, it’s playing politics with people’s lives but at this point …

Democrats are united in their fury over President Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program — but they haven’t reached agreement on what they’re willing to do to try to force Congress to reinstate it.

Might i suggest economic sanctions against any and all entities who do business with the Republican Party?

Only if 1.6 billion will be swapped with green cards for DACA and a path to citizenship of 3 years. Agreeing to put DACA recipients in another purgatory where GOP can stoke more hell fire is a waste of time.

Someone needs to submit a bill that funds disaster relief for Americans with the money going to Israel and Egypt.
Better yet, if Republicans insist on increased spending for border security, let’s take the money from Israel and Egypt.
I want legislators on the record explaining why they’ll support spending money over there but not here at home.
