Or see on the front page of the newspaper…
The man is disqualified from high office not only because of bigotry, but also because he cannot write a simple, declarative English sentence.
I’m tired.
It’s all just exhausting.
OT
Matt, are you British? Great Britain has a rank of Brigadier, but the US Army does not. Maybe you wrote Brigadier General [his actual rank], and the “General” got lost somewhere in the editing. Enough for nit-picking; as to the substance of the article, my universal response to this subject is: just because it is mostly bigoted, right-wing fruit cakes who say that Islam is a problem religion, does not mean that it isn’t. And just because most individual Muslims are good people, does not mean the religion that they follow is not horrible.
Substitute nearly “any” major Religion for that word.
Add stupidity to that. If you’re interested in a government paycheck don’t post crap like that. If you have delete it before you put yourself in a position that requires vetting. This guy apparently thought crap like he posted was no big deal. That’s stupid.
As a committed liberal all of my life, I have read much of the Koran and observed the way Muslim countries are run. It is a religion for people who do not believe in fact, logic or reason. I wholeheartedly condemn this religion and do not tolerate a religion that discriminates against women and gays.
you seem incredibly inclined to our establishment.
…
Oops, sorry.
“After conducting a full and open competition in compliance with all Office of Personnel Management guidance for career vacancies in the Senior Executive Service, including assembling resume review and interview panels as part of the standard hiring process, a candidate was selected for the position of Deputy Director and a tentative job offer was extended, expected to commence mid-September,” spokesman Michael Bars told BuzzFeed News.
Note that this guy was selected for an SES civil service appointment (not as a political appointee !). That means that he could have been carried through a change in administration rather than having his tenure tied to that of the president. That doesn’t look like the description of a standard civil service vetting process — more like the “fix” was in.
This guy’s opinion is probably shared by a large percentage of the officer corps of the United States military. What I find problematic is this guy felt safe sharing that opinion on Facebook. That demonstrates a lack of judgment disqualifying him from most any responsible government job. To me the real question is how did he make brigadier general?
OT, but at least related to military matters:
US military to cancel $300m in Pakistan aid over terror groups
The “best” part might be this:
The announcement comes just days before US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is due to visit Pakistan to meet the country’s new prime minister, Imran Khan.
Have a nice visit, Mike. Check under your limo before you start it in the morning.
More of “only the best people”, I’m sure.
Pretty clear to me that the FB posts were seen by Trump as an example of how well qualified he was for the job…
Time was, back in the 1950s - 1970s, when the US armed forces went to a lot of trouble to get rid of racists.
They’ve been falling down on the job lately.
It’s a very important question of how these assholes like this guy and Kelly got so far.
These guys could break what’s left of our volunteer military.
Yeah, I was kind of surprised that this sounds (from what’s public anyway) like run-of-the-mill prejudice that probably runs throughout the government and especially the military. I guess I’ve gotten used to this administration employing literal Nazis.
I hate the term Human Capital. People are people not fucking capital, to be traded, used to purchase, put on the books as if some fucking company owned them.
The most fiucking demeaning term sense being called a slave.
Disgusting fucking buzz word.
Amen
One good thing about racists, they are friggin’ dumb!
It’s a shame that Russia has gone missing. It used to do a bang-up job of motivating our military. That country had it all – a large spy network, thousands of nuclear warheads on missiles targeting the U.S., first-rate cyberwarfare and cybercrime capabilities, a penchant for fanning global hotspots into flame to complicate US foreign policy and create new enemies for the U.S., and a ruler fit for a Bond movie.
