Great for Dana. I commend her for resigning. This is what freedom and free speech is all about. Sheâs is using it properly for making her view point heard and to stay true to the supposed teachings of her supposed god/gods/ goddess/supreme being/supreme force.

Maybe these clerks should have explained to them that itâs the State they work for, and not themselves, that issue marriage licenses. They are just the âmiddlemenâ in the process.

But resigning is exactly what people should do, if their core convictions are paining them so. I can respect that. What I will not respect is people who feel entitled to keep a job they wonât do, because theyâd rather inconvenience people theyâre hired to serve, in the name of making a statement.

Congratulations to the clerk. If one finds their job incompatible with their faith, they have to make a decision. A Jain canât expect to take a job in a cattle yard and then refuse to slaughter animals on religious grounds.
