“Our state’s law enforcement is functioning correctly” is not tweet-worthy, governor.
It’s Arizona folks… hardly a complete investigation. They want to stop the public panic.
It’s always struck me that police and prosecutors talk about people they arrest or indict as if they were certain the were guilty–you never hear a DA using “alleged killer” the way a news organization would describe them (for fear of libel). I don’t find anything about this online, but presumably the state has some sort of immunity against libel/slander if they believe in good faith that they got their guy and, if that’s the case, it would seem that the head of the executive branch for the state would have the same sort of protections…
