Discussion: Arizona County Votes To Endorse 'Anyone But McCain' For Senate

Giant gasbag formation is still a mystery but we’ll know more after the solar-powered Juno probe visits Jupiter this July 4…

He’ll run again, just like my Senator Feinstein will run again in 2018 and she’s the oldest member of the Senate at 82, McCain’s young at 79. It’s what they do. They run until they drop.

McCain: I have requested a name change and will now be known as AB McCain.

It was sometime after his loss in 2004. Between 2004 and 2008 he became a total tool.

See if Barstool had actually parked her butt on that stool rather than bending over it to give two different guys a better angle…well, you get the message. Hah!

Yeah, 20 years too later however! Bwahahahahaha! Eat it McCain!

Just another Arizona nutjob.

He’ll have to beat Shitzheimer in the primary…

Maricopa County, the one that keeps reelecting Sheriff Arpaio who is going to start costing them serious money. Not the brightest bunch of people by a long shot.

Just two? She is like one of those carnival rides that have a sign “You must be this tall to ride” and anyone more than two feet tall has been on her.

McBurns is paying Maricopa County for this.

I don’t believe so…Bristol is the one who officially moved to Arizona.

Nobody realistic, so far, has emerged to challenge him. This vote is all well and good, but without anyone running against him its pretty meaningless.

If however, a strong campaign emerges behind some Tea Parrtier…I could see McCain saying “screw it” and just retire to DC and take pot shots at the Senate from his favorite sideline seat on Sunday talk shows. I mean, I am pretty sure all of them have a chair engraved with his name on it by now.

I’ve been thinking that if either Trump or Cruz is the nominee, McCain and maybe a few others are likely to retire. Guys like McCain would be almost certain to draw a serious primary challenger or even a far rightie 3rd party contender that the presidential nominee might endorse. Either Trump or Cruz would love the opportunity to stick it to McCain and some of the old guard Republicans who’ve been less than kind, and I highly doubt McCain’s ego and temperament would allow him to do the necessary groveling to get right with nominee. Being abandoned by the top of the ticket would be humiliating enough, losing would be devastating. The best option would be to retire and sit back from the cheap seats screaming, “I told ya so!”

He fears death.

Both his father and grandfather died shortly after retiring from public service.

I think the grandfather dropped dead the day after he retired.

He talked about his fears in the movie Game Change right at the end when Steve Schmidt told him he lost the election and also apologized for Sarah Palin

Sen. Arpaio has a nice ring to it. Or, actually, Senate nominee Arpaio.

Oh, I tend to think a McCain “retirement” would mean he simply devotes all of his time to being on TV. He would probably get a regular gig with CNN or MSNBC, and then he’d devote the rest of his life to pretending he had absolutely nothing to do with the GOP destroying itself. Sarah who?
