Discussion: Arianna Huffington To Trump: 'We Are No Longer Entertained'

Discussion for article #243529

One honky-tonk side show saying it won’t mention another circus. Big Deal!

Her decision to only cover his campaign was “entertainment” was a petty, foolish decision in the first place. And now its blown up in her face, Trump, if he cares to, can claim victory. But I suspect he views Arianna as even too far down for even him to punch down at.

Whaaaaaaaat’! Remember HuffPo’…***.When Trump speaks___America listens***!

In all seriousness, I ask you, who really gives a fuck about this?

novelty has curdled and congealed into something repellent and threatening

Ooooo ----- Bad milk on your cereal — Oooooo …

This. And was also an indication of her total lack of insight into the radical undercurrent that has been corrupting the Repubs for years.

oooo weeee… she has the same 'do as Donnie… same hairdressers?

I don’t disagree but I think this criticism is a bit harsh. I have never expected political insight from Huffington Post. While they often link to thoughtful commentary, I check HP for news items I might have missed elsewhere not the type of commentary that I get from TPM.

Nobody is too far down for Trump to give a Trump downpunch! Nobody! No one, from the president down to the lowliest mentally ill homeless person, who dares belittle or denigrate the greatness of the Trumpher can escape the mighty axe-blows of his Tweets! The Trumpher must always be exalted and praised. Merely to have a different opinion is like a physical assault on his perfection!

That’s entirely true. Then again, she criticizes mainstream media, so it’s not so unfair if she’s criticized for in effect having downplayed Trump (or more precisely, what he manifests)…

There are five or six Trump stories on the front page, and that is five or six too many for me. See you all later when sanity is restored.

I go there whenever I want to stress-test my ad-blocking software.

That’s a terrible picture of her. Visual commentary?

Her metaphor for the Donald is an apt one. We all thought he was an entertaining blowhard and that he’d self-destruct in September. Then October. Then November. Now December. Pretty soon January, then February in Iowa. The fact that he hasn’t is an indication of the GOP’s willingness to swallow their own curdled and congealed message.

Took her long enough. Hate and racism should never be treated as entertainment.
