Discussion: Are Legal Immigrants the Biggest Victims?

Discussion for article #230521

"According to this 2007 Census report, 53.6% of the country’s immigrant population comes from Latin America. " - which would seem to suggest that 46.4% of immigrants are not Latino. And as someone whose wife has been waiting patiently for 15 years as their non-Latino siblings worked their way through the process and up the quota chain, I can state categorically that we are NOT in favor of any policy that give illegal immigrants (regardless of point of origin) a path to citizenship outside the current legal quota system. I’m pretty confident the overwhelming majority of non-Hispanic immigrants would share that view.

Work visas, sure. Not deporting Dreamers and those that serve in the military, sure. Even an eventual path to citizenship…sure, But ONLY if they have to wait 16.5 years just like we have to.
