Basically it seems like it’s another example of the holistic approach to disenfranchisement: Change the law, and if the courts strike down your law, change the courts.
There have been something like 10+ articles on TPM in the last 2 days about voter suppression laws. Welcome to the future - these laws used to be struck down or stopped before they could be enacted - now they are upheld and form a foundation for other states to follow. It is a national scandal of the worst kind and yes - nothing but crickets. I don’t believe in conspiracy theories except when there is an obvious conspiracy.
Do you think maybe that knowing the upstream judiciary has been recast has anything to do with this?
This has to be stopped. Whoever is running in 2020 will HAVE to commit to appointing new justices, and then the SC can start overturning these laws. Screw what happens after that; this is a national emergency. In GA, the governor’s election is on the brink of outright theft in plain slight.
