Discussion: AP: Michael Flynn To Decline Senate Intel Committee Subpoena

Remind me, did Hillary take the 5th at any point during the Benghazi hearings?

\facepalm…

That’s the language of the author. Flynn is contesting compliance on the grounds of the 5th. Given the crap he’s in he probably has a point. This is sometimes done when angling for immunity but I don’t think Flynn will get. His attorneys will argue the 5th and he may not even have to show up and plea that. I think he can do this.

But it’s going to let folks know there’s something there and to get out bigger shovels.

“Declining” a Senate subpoena. Uh-oh. If Flynn goes over to being “in da House Intelligence” fielding Pete King’s Benghazi and Vince Foster questions I shan’t be able to watch.

This treasonous prick is going from the White House to the big house. Trump’s entire administration is a criminal enterprise and it’s crumbling before our eyes. If the GOP has any hair on its ass it will do the right thing and get rid of this president and his cabal. Pining away for the good old Nixon days is something I never thought would come about. Trump’s “there is no collusion” crap is his version of Nixon’s “I am not a crook”. Right.

Yeah, that’s the part I find confusing. You can decline to answer questions, but declining to produce evidence? That’s totally different than declining to speak, or so it would seem.

That would contribute to probable cause for a warrant right there…

Ahronheim said later it originated with a joke account. Oh well. Cleverly done.

Whoa there. His Trumpness pledged he’d never eat them again after some Oreo jobs got moved to Mexico.

Was that pledge just another lie? Why yes!

EDIT–ahh, joke. A good one

Forget the food, “2 - cartons, KFC paper napkins (MUST be KFC napkins)” seems the standout WTF bit of randomness from that list.

And Trump is now saying firing Flynn was a mistake. Really?

Joke portrayals and the reality keep leapfrogging over each other as they both get ever more bizarre. I don’t think there’s any fixed, knowable point beyond which you say, “OK, that’s too ridiculous even for Trump, now I know this is a joke.”

So you can decline a subpoena. Good to know.

Let’s see if Burr has the integrity and the balls to vote to hold Flynn in contempt. My bets is no, and will try and vomit up the excuse that trying to enforce the subpoena would interfere with the Special Prosecutor’s investigation or some such blathering nonsense or excuse.

But wasn’t there a recent USSC decision that now allows juries to consider the declared use of the 5th as an indicator of guilt?

Irony: He will be treated better in the US than in either Russia or Turkey.

That’s why the alleged piss tape was even remotely believable. People could ask themselves “Is Tramp the sort of person who would rent the very suite the Obamas stayed in and hire hookers to pee all over the bed?” And honest people had to consider that it was well within the realm of possibility with this guy.

It’s difficult to tell an Onion headline from actual news!

Yeah, the “5 maps Electoral College victory, framed and hung throughout the suite” was the giveaway for me.

If Flynn somehow manages to skate because the Republicans allow that, isn’t he also being investigated by the Pentagon?

Mike Flynn is acting guilty. He should seek asylum in the Russian Federation with the Russian intelligence spy relocation program. Preshitident Trump or Mike Penice or Paul Ryan should call their Russian intelligence handlers immediately and help their fellow mole in his time of need.

I thought that one was all too plausible! For me, not that I was sure, but it went on and on and was just too good to be true and you know the rule about that.
