Discussion: AP Analysis: What Does The VP Rollout Tell Us About Trump?

Well, it ain’t playing well in Peoria.

I guess this means that Obama and Trump are the same on how they make decisions. Thanks, AP.

Remember the times when people traded comics?

“I’ll take these two. Three Batmans for Two Supermans!!”

Well, One Julie Pace is worth Three Sean Hannitys…a deft attempt to “trade” Barack Obama’s action on Syria to Trump’s VP rollout. This is the kind of subliminal message meant for the person in the Undecided camp, in the Independent camp. People who are not Trumpers but who Pace’s employers wish to make into people who will “give Trump a look” “give Trump the benefit of the doubt” “think of Trump in (God forbid) ‘Presidential’ terms”.

One of the examples of the danger of the MSM

Ezra Klein’s impressions of the shennanigans at today’s intallment of #trumpenceshambles is worth a read.

Back in May, EJ Dionne wrote that the hardest thing about covering Donald Trump would be “staying shocked.” Watching him, day after day, week after week, month after month, the temptation would be to normalize his behavior, “to move Trump into the political mainstream.”

But today helped. Donald Trump’s introduction of Mike Pence was shocking. Forget the political mainstream. What happened today sat outside the mainstream for normal human behavior.

Indeed, the comment was a complete non-sequitur

Media can’t remember squat or analyze worth a shit. As I recall, Obama went to Congress so they could put their money where their flipping mouths were. Republicans blinked like the blowhard cowards they are, afraid to take any responsibility. Hey AP, get a clue.

Uh oh. Last time we had a President who led with his gut…we got into a gut-wrenching, catastrophic war in Iraq.

I think Obama makes reasoned decisions, even though you may not agree with them. But Trump is erratic and shoots from the lip.

I suppose they imagine drawing an equivalence, even a false one, makes them appear unbiased. If it’s a false equivalence (as this one was), the opposite is true.

knowledge requires thinking and stuff. However, if you can just impose your will, sometimes you “can make the impossible happen”, just like Phoebe Figalilly in “Nanny and The Professor”.

But then, Juliette Mills (Sir John Mills’ daughter) always had the better stage presence, and much better words than Cheeto Jesus :smiling_imp:

the cat shredded the TP. yikes!

yeah. and don’t forget the zillion dollar deficit and the global recession.

and if obama went and did it, never mind the outcome, they would be all over him like a pack of wolves or fox or something unpleasant.

As I recall, after Obama drew that red line, Putin decided to intervene to help protect Assad. He convinced Assad to admit to the chemical weapons and to give them up for destruction. Republicans in Congress simply washed their hands of the whole thing and sat back to complain. What was Obama to do? Attack Assad even though he gave up his chemical weapons or join with Russia in the removal and destruction of those chemical weapons? Obama made the right choice.

Led with his gut?

Led by his nose.

I wonder why the AP didn’t include that bit of info.

I’d say this bit of info (about Pence) wouldn’t be appreciated by most people. Remember than time he slammed Nancy Reagan five days after Ronnie died?

I was just going to say exactly the same thing. AP is the master of the most subtle form of lying propaganda. They compare the vagaries of a raging lunatic with the deference shown by a President to the constitutional prerogatives of Congress.
