True enough, but I don’t think that Trump is by any means talking down to them. They’re just simpatico.
Not so much - he’s a narcissist. Ignoring him is death. He will do whatever he can to stay in the limelight.
Archie Bunker was from Queens.
Not the kind of “New York” association trump wants people to make. Fred began his mobbed-up landlord business buying up properties in Queens, with Donny as his muscle to collect rents. trump ventured out to Manhattan in his late 20’s.
Yeah, the “cannot legally be used” is perplexing (re: what his drug-addled brain was trying to convey). But Bill the Shill Barr has no real say in what the House can or cannot do re: impeachment. If it gets that far, I expect the Party of Traitors to whine about the Traitor-in-Chief being impeached for a “process crime.” Probably the same people who were OK with it when Clinton was President [looking at you, Lindsey]
Don’t get me started. I could see Yankee stadium from my bedroom window. The Mets should’ve stayed in Harlem; maybe I would have grown to accept them.
No, she just meant that, being a New Yorker herself, she knows what he is.
It wasn’t a comment about Queens.
AOC should challenge Trump to a face to face debate in front of the American public.
Just she and Trump and no pre agreements except you cannot interrupt like Trump always does.
The Polo Grounds was in Washington Heights/Coogan’s Bluff, which I think is different from Harlem.
Never got to see the Mets play there, but went to more than a few games at Shea. Shea was a little easier to get to, especially if you had a car.
Not concerned about AOC who is very smart and can take care of herself.
Am I the only one who reads Trump here and thinks he’s scared to death of impeachment hearings?
I had this dream re: the 2016 debates, but which might be better suited to AOC than HRC:
Specifically, when the Traitor-in-Chief tried his “physically crowd her space and loom over her to try to intimidate her” bullshit, she should turn around and say “You better get out of my face, you candy-ass, before I slap you so silly you’ll be crying for yer momma – the way you used to do when you were in your 20s and 30s.”
Hilarity would ensue.
Not by much. I could walk to both Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds back in the day, so as far as I was concerned it was part of my neighborhood, Harlem.
Wasn’t worth seeing them in either place until '69.
I guess it depended on what you were hoping to see. But I take your point.
I remember being a kid, my family driving up Harlem River Drive (I think), and my father pointing to some apartment buildings next to (or almost next to) the road and telling me that the Polo Grounds used to be there.
Queens is on Long Island.
So is Brooklyn.
And Nassau and Suffolk counties, too.
It’s a subtle dig at Trump’s desire to be seen as a Manhattanite—more sophisticated and richer than some nobody from Queens.
You gotta problem with that, bud? Huh?
Maybe in about 30 years, after she knows how to deal with a fractious caucus.
Giving AOC an air horn to use if trump refuses to back off or tries to talk over her would make things even more enjoyable
“they play the impeach card, which cannot be legally used!”
WTF? Hey Trump, what do you, your pet AG, your sycophant cabinet, your bullied FBI and your stacked judiciary all have in common? You all have absolutely no fucking part in anything related to impeachment.
“The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.”
Sole Power, motherfucker.
Well, outside of being charged, of course.
