I too have been wondering about this. he got the unredacted Rosenstein memo he requested, so has he ruled in Manafortā€™s attempt to dodge?

No wonder the border needs all those JAGs! Muellerā€™s grabbing all the DOJ attorneys he can find (plus Iā€™m sure they know which is the case that will get them remembered fondly in the future)!

Speaking of, thereā€™s an fun little bar in NYC called Rawhide. I think it might be Paulieā€™s kind of place after a little time in the big house.

Flynn didnā€™t register as a foreign agent either. He really needs to be locked up too.

I think he is going to age rapidly over the next couple of monthsā€“no hair dye, botox and whatever else he is using to stave off the inevitable. His family will be able to bring him clothes for court appearances, but after a prison diet even a 5K suit may not look too great. I donā€™t feel sorry for him, and canā€™t wait until itā€™s Trumpā€™s turn. . .

Manafort strikes out again

Womp womp

Has Paulie Walnuts won ANYTHING in court?

I was so struck by that passage itā€™s on my clipboard, but you saved me the trouble of pasting it. Because that passage, in itā€™s own dry somewhat understated way, strikes right at the heart of the journalistic malpractice and the active misfeasance of Congressional Republicans at the time and today. Itā€™s a passage that has particular currency when Bolton is in Moscow bending the knee to Putin as they collaborate with him to accomplish his main objective, the destruction of NATO and the western alliance system.

That is the whole point of the timing of this summit, right around the NATO summit. Heā€™s going to do the same thing he did at the G7, trash our allies and then bearhug Putin, all to the end of blowing up the alliance system and global trade order that has kept us out of a world war for seven decades. And no one in the goddamned media has the balls to connect the goddamn dots, explore the reality that every single major foreign policy initiative of this administration has been a thing that benefits Russia at the expense of the US and/or its allies and that this is being done by a president being investigated for having colluded with Russia to steal the election.

Res ipsa loquiturā€“the thing speaks for itself and yet, not one of our leading news outlets has been able to speak that truth and at least cautiously suggest there might maybe be some kind of connection. I mean, they wonā€™t even talk about it eliptically by discussing the ā€œopticsā€ of Trumps foreign policy moves in light of the ongoing investigation --and this after twenty five goddamn years of constant handwringing and insinuation over the ā€œopticsā€ of either Clinton doing perfectly normal things in light of the ongoing partisan witchhunt de jour because they lacked evidence of actual wrongdoing to talk about.

I am honestly afraid that Trump is, idiotically, planning to do a Munich, concede the annexation of Crimea in return for nothing. Or, rather, that Putin is making him do that with the same combination of blackmail, flattery and bribery that heā€™s been using on Trump since 2015. And when that happens, particularly with three NATO members now under the control of parties ideologically aligned with or linked to Putin and almost every country under internal political pressure being fomented by Russia, the whole alliance could just go kablooie.

Our national discourse wired never to hurt Republican feefees even when they are taking us over a financial, military, ecological or humanitarian brink will serve us and the world disastrously as Trump exploits it to the benefit of his foreign bribers and blackmailers.

However, I strongly suspect thereā€™s much weā€™re overlooking when we assume Mueller merely seeks to get Manafort to flip on Trump. Weā€™ve seen enough evidence to entertain the idea that the 73 year-old Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Gallantry Cross former FBI chief with a record of fearlessly taking down the mob is targeting bigger international players, the troll farm, oligarchs, and any other actors in this vast conspiracy against Pax Americana and the nation he has unflinchingly served. Iā€™m not expecting any sort of superheroā€™s victory, but he will expose the foreign disruption just enough to equip us with enough insight and hope to confront it.
