And I see he’s still carrying his Magic Constitution that grants his every wish. Another change I’d recommend for him: Lose the Constitution, and get an index card and write on it “Don’t do anything illegal today.” Then laminate it, and take it out and look at it every morning. It would be another huge improvement in his life.

I think he’s in disguise as his own lawyer.
Ammon had a respectable job in Chandler running a company that repaired commercial fleet trucks. Had he stayed with that he’d have been fine. He even had his family ensconced in a nice house. But he has chosen to throw that all away. Nothing drove him to it It was personal choice I guess. Now he has probably insurmountable legal problems not the least of which is affording a $250/hr lawyer. I guess his family has decamped to Mesquite, NV to stay with his momma whilst his Daddy has his own legal problems having been popped at the Portland airport and chucked into the hoosegow. I am not sure he has been released or not.
The Bundy Family does not seem to specialize in good choices.
