Possessing guns during the commission of a crime is serious stuff. The implied threat is you intend to use them if someone interferes. You don’t have to say it,its just there. They tried to say their takeover was peaceful,it was not.

The judge scrapped an April trial date, agreeing with prosecutors to
designate the case as “complex.” The move ends the right to a speedy
trial sought by the defendants.
This gives them the opportunity to occupy another Federal facility – but for much much longer; and without guns.

This whole thing was just one big self-fulfilling prophecy. This guy and every other anti-government nut have had nothing barring them from living a free and comfortable life. Yet they insist on living this fantasy that they’re living under tyranny. And they take it to a point where they end up behind bars.
It’s just so stupid. The Bundy cult deserves everything that’s coming to them.

No, no, thank you Ammon. Thanks to you, your dad and the rest of your crew of dumbasses, we’ve learned a few things.
First, not matter how cool you think your dad is, think twice before committing crimes with him. Cliven has gotten away with bucking the law and pretending he didn’t believe in the federal government for 20 years (while fighting the mythical federal government in mythical federal court).
Second, if you’re going to commit crimes, bringing guns along is a bad move. Prosecutors LOVE to toss on additional charges if you have guns.
Third, if you want to engage in civil disobedience, don’t threaten people (especially law enforcement) or bring guns (see above). You can’t compare yourself to MLK or Ghandi if you’re making threats to law enforcement and the locals and waving around guns- it’s not a good look.
Lastly, you had rights, until you give them away by committing crimes. You, your dad, and the rest of the crew gleefully gave away your rights ON NATIONAL TV!! Do we have to have a discussion about how incredibly stupid showing off to the media really is? Maybe we do since your dad was too busy explaining the Negro to you, and not explaining about the value of being a good citizen.
