Could not agree more.
At the time it was happening I wrote several news organizations, even wrote my brother who at the time was an the managing editor of a newspaper, and nobody including my own brother seemed to care.
What is with the ? at the end. There is no question, it is working as intended to keep Blacks from voting
I have always wondered, and continue to wonder, how any of these laws keeping people from voting (whom are not imprisoned) are legal/constitutional and why they are not challenged more often and more aggressively in courts?
The right to vote in a federal election should not be decided at the state level - it should be an even playing field. However, given our gerrymandered House and SCOTUS with the stolen seat and the Tramp-packed FEC, I wouldnât trust anyone at the federal level to advance a more progressive policyâŚ
@tomdibble Yeah, my first instinct was to ask âwho gets to vote first?â
Somewhat OT, but I saw the governor of Puerto Rico just signed legislation to privatize the islandâs electrical grid.
Disaster Capitalism strikes again!
The reason is to keep Black people from voting. Convict and strip is how itâs done here. I doubt this referendum goes anywhere though. Getting 60 Of the people in any state to agree on something is a bit tough. Clemency is not as boldly corrupt as a few in here say though.
Florida was lost to Bernie protest voters and the Greenâs whoâve always wanted to make America Great Again. Had the Bernie fans the sense to see how blatantly they were being trolled they light live in America where that Saint Bernie mattered. But they were pissed of. Yes Sir! So they voted to put Bernie in the minority with a huge veto pen over everything he does. Voted to make SCOTUS a no mans land for all things Bernie too. Good job Bernie Bots. Enjoy!
The same can probably be said for Wisconsin, Michigan and PennsylvaniaâŚ
Iâm sorry to hear that. Relatedly, this was just a few weeks ago: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/ten-of-the-at-least-70-people-arrested-during-21st-birthday-party/674439253
Given that probably upwards of 90% of these convictions were for relatively petty drug crimes, if this passes I would hope there would be some voter backlash against the party that has pushed the hardest to maintain and expand the racist, failed âWar on Drugsâ and the epidemic of mass incarceration and destruction of families that has resulted from this decades-long social experiment in creating millions of second-class citizens.
