Mitch McConnell has assured us that “the structure protects from ‘big mistakes.’” Paul Ryan told us that he "would sue any president that exceeds his or her powers”. Marco Rubio proudly proclaimed that he "will act as a check and balance on whoever the president is even if it is a president from my own party.” Orrin Hatch is going to "ensure a President Trump toes the line.” And Rob Portman is “an independent voice for Ohio and if I disagree with something from the Trump administration, . . . of course I will stand up.”

Thank the deity of your choice that we will be saved by the highly principled politicians of the GOP.

Probably my favorite least-noticed Cheetoism from the “Russia thing” quote is this:

“And, in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said: ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.’”

So he’s basically admitting that he was a terrible choice for president in addition to his admission that he shared classified info with Russia.
