Seems like it could make a good Dem. attack ad.
Open with something sentimental talking about the Alamo and courage. Cut to a shot of Trump insulting Cruzā€™s wife, followed by a shot of him gladhandelling with Trump. Repeat with a shot of Trump insulting his dad and than another with his wife. Finish with something about how if he doesnt have the courage to stand up for his own family how can you trust him to have the courage to stand up for Texas.

ā€œsniveling cowardā€ and ā€œpathological liarā€ should make for some great TV and radio ads. Were I running a PAC in opposition to Cruz, Iā€™d be booking time on Fox News and well as local stations to run those ads come October.

Trump will be using every opportunity to humiliate Cruz from making him publically beg for his help and then verbally humiliate and abuse him at the Texas rallies. They should also play well in TV spots.

I donā€™t see how Trump coming here will help Cruz. It wonā€™t change anyoneā€™s mind who wouldnā€™t already vote for Cruz, it will remind people what a sniveling, unprincipled creep Cruz is, and it will further energize Dems.

Truly pathetic. Had he laughed off Trumpā€™s attacks from the start and used them to shame Trump from above rather than play the victim and insist that Trump had truly insulted his wife and lying father, it would STILL be humiliating for him to beg for Trumpā€™s help; and not just because heā€™s a Republican needing help in Texas.

But the fact that Cruz played up the insults against his wife by insisting that Trump really had attacked her only makes his sniveling cowardice all the worse. Trumpā€™s greatest strength is his ability to reduce everyone to their basest instincts, so he can compete with them on his level. Cruz gives the word ā€œtoadyā€ a bad name.

For all the premature hope of purple Texas, Cruzā€™s toxic unlikability has left a legitimate opening for a solid Democratic opponent like Beto. Itā€™s where our personal donations are going this cycle, though weā€™re also looking into helping Sinema in AZ.

Cruz is a moron if he thinks Trump can save him. The whole reason Beto is a threat is because heā€™s a nice guy with brains and Cruz is a bomb-throwing toad who lucked into his seat last time. The only way to get conservatives out to vote is to make them the victims, so they need a Big Bad Bogeyman to fear.

But Trump is the biggest baddest Bogeyman in the country. Every time he comes to Texas it will outrage Democrats far more than it encourages Trumpers. Trump Supporters donā€™t even like Trump. They like CEO Jesus who miraculously defeated Crooked Hillary on the most glorious day ever and donā€™t like to be reminded that heā€™s done nothing to improve their lives at all. Sadly, Republicans still havenā€™t realized how much of Trumpā€™s popularity was due entirely to Russian bots.

Former Texan hereā€¦I do think Betoā€™s tactic of visiting all communities and trying to meet everyone and discuss his message face-to-face will actually go a long way in Texas.

You do have to admire the perserverance and courage of anyone having to converse with a bunch of Texans on a daily basis. The United Nations Commission on Human Rights lists it as one of the conditions theyā€™d typically advocate deserving of investigation and remedial action.
