Discussion: Alabama Teen Helped Solve His Own Missing Person Case After 13 Years

Discussion for article #242587

I’m happy for the young man. That said, I’m going to withhold judgment on the father until I learn much more than is in this article. Since the teen is, by all accounts, a very well-adjusted and smart young man, I’m inclined to believe the father–and his wife?–girlfriend?–did a pretty good job at raising him. Still, I also don’t know if this was just a lovers’ quarrel and a revenge kidnapping, etc. Need more details.

Let’s hope that this good news will be plastered on milk cartons across America.

I think there are a some people that have a lot of areas in their life that are great and that help others, but have a few really bad things. I know a 50ish woman that, when she was 16, had a long term affair into her 20s, with a man that was well thought of in the small town they lived in and friends with her parents and grandparents. I think her family and many in the town would be shell shocked if they ever found out.
