Discussion: Alabama Nixes "NOHOMO" License Plate

Discussion for article #231144

¨The license plate has the saying “NOHOMO,” a slang phrase used when the speaker does not want to appear gay.¨

But really deep down inside wants to be.

So, three adults pore over various multiple forms of slang every day looking for submissions with ineligible combinations of letters and numbers. They’re exposed to all manner of slang and current phrases deemed objectionable. Yet something with the letters "HOMO’ within the request raises nary an eye? Yeah, uh huh…

Yup, that’s how I see it too…(my correction)

All this fuss over a license that simply signifies the owner’s commitment to fresh untreated cow juice.

A wink and a nod? Or maybe a wide stance and a tapping foot? Oh wait, we’re on to the ‘love the sinner but hate the sin’ phase where you just tell people you’re making their lives miserable for their own good. Oh hell, I guess I don’t know the currently approved method.

Let the cream rise to the top!

“Homo” goes back decades slang for what we now call gay.

Clearly an individual who has some questions about his own sexuality he’s not comfortable facing.
