Discussion: Al Sharpton Tells Megyn Kelly To ‘Calm Down’ In Heated Fox News Interview (VIDEO)

But why ruin a perfectly viable talking point?

I’m pretty sure they’ll never let that one go!
I hear it from my mother anytime his name comes up.

That’s why I like Media Matters, they watch Faux News, so I don’t have to.

I see you noticed that too RichardinJax never misses an opportunity to denegrate Al Sharpton. And my family repeats the meme.

Al - honey, this is something you do not say to a woman ever.

It’s tantamount to someone calling you “boy.”

Get a room, you two!

Yeah, to hear conservatives talk about him you would think he was the single most powerful liberal evah!

He’s not my cup of tea - the “preacher voice” gets really old after a while - but he’s not the same guy he was back in the 90’s (of course, that’s true of all of us).

If Al Sharpton didn’t exist, Fox and the GOP would create him.

Gee, I’m really sorry I missed these two titans going toe-to-toe.
Better luck next time.

Can you link that please? I have seen no record whatsoever of an apology. None. In fact he has defended his position. So show me a link to his apology becasue I think that you are posting pure nonsense.

Don’t even try defending that racist a-hole. He has made absurd racist and bigoted statements (like “Socrates and all those Greek homos”.). He is no different than Trump or Duke with their speech.

I see no record of the FBI even being involved in that case. And police knew pretty quickly her story was BS on initial investigation, but assholes like Sharpton and his puppets in the media (good ratings story) kept it alive. He ruined the lives of several men for NO reason, and never apologized for it. He is a low life POS.

It’s not a talking point. It’s a fact. Al Sharpton never apologized for that mess. He’s racist asshole just like Trump.

I like Al Sharpton and consider him to be among the top effective activists. I’m glad he pushed back on Kelly’s allegations regarding Ferguson. Good for him.

Apparently, Kelly doesn’t think black lives matter…and Trump paid her well at that “secret” meeting to be very vocal about it. Trump’s “Get him out of here” attitude rubbed off on her?

Whatever your views on Sharpton, he is a lightning rod for conservatives and his appearances are likely doing more harm than good. I can agree with him on some issues and still understand that he should consider whether his efforts are actually productive. Appearing on Fox? I highly doubt he is doing any favors to the issue he is promoting.

Is that right or wrong? A fair question. But it may be missing the point if appearances like this only serve to make the matter worse.

His interview was with Fox. He knows full well who their viewers are and what they think of him. Perhaps he could consider whether he’s actually helping anything by arguing with Kelly.

Just a thought.

Sharpton also never admitted or apologized for the false accusations against the man who accidentally ran over Michael Griffith in Howard Beach. He’s been accepted into polite society, but remains an unreconstructed scumbag.

If he was white and doing the exact same thing, he would be condemned on here (and I would agree with that 100%). I don’t see how being black gives you a free pass on being an asshole. All races of people have good people and assholes. Sharpton is an asshole, his race has no relevance on that well established fact.

I like the bit where Kelly claims she does journalism, not opinion. I’d like to know what part of her claim that Santa Claus is most definitely white is not opinion. Just because Trump is hating on her for asking mildly challenging questions shouldn’t lull us into forgetting that she’s a rightwing wacko.

You are forgetting the one person he does the biggest favor too. HIMSELF. He’s like Trump, flapping his jaws for attention. He cares about himself and staying in the limelight, getting donations, etc.

Loves not paying taxes too.

Records reviewed by The New York Times show more than $4.5 million in current state and federal tax liens against him and his for-profit businesses. With the tax liability outstanding, Mr. Sharpton traveled first class and collected a sizable salary, the kind of practice by nonprofit groups that the United States Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration recently characterized as “abusive,” or “potentially criminal” if the failure to turn over or collect taxes is willful.

Mr. Sharpton and the National Action Network have repeatedly failed to pay travel agencies, hotels and landlords. He has leaned on the generosity of friends and sometimes even the organization, intermingling its finances with his own to cover his daughters’ private school tuition.

Had a Republican done that, this site would be all over him, and I would too. How does this clown get a free pass on this by some liberals.

Oh, and in “reality”, most black people actually can’t stand Al Sharpton. Akai Gurleys’ family told him to stay away from his funeral. His approval rating among blacks is a little over 50%. Most smart blacks can’t stand him.

When a Hasidic rabbi’s motorcade killed a 7-year-old black boy in Brooklyn, Sharpton called the Hasidic Jews as “diamond merchants” and said “if the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.” Soon after that, an innocent Hasidic Jewish student visiting the area from Australia was set upon by a mob and stabbed to death. So, Trump incites some punching, bad (and I agree 100%). Sharpton incites murder, but that’s fine?? Really?

State law bars nonprofits from making loans to officers. No exceptions Yet Sharpton admitted that his National Action Network had once loaned him money to cover his daughters’ tuition.

In 2005, Sharpton appeared in three TV commercials for LoanMax. They are an automobile title loan firm that reportedly charged fees that were the equivalent of 300 percent APR loans. How much did Al get paid for that scam?

He hurts the cause.

NO ONE should miss an opportunity to do that. He’s a low life and a fraud. His interests are his own ego and shaking people down (including lots of poor blacks) for money. And he hurts the civil rights cause big time. He is the complete opposite of Dr. King. King would be embarrassed by Sharpton.

Kelly apparently thinks that absence of evidence is evidence of absence. Sorry Megyn! Proving fear is inherently impossible to do anyway. Philosophers call it the problem of other minds but what are the odds that Kelly ever heard of that?

And not only does Kelly think absence of evidence is evidence of absence, she also apparently thinks evidence = whatever the DOJ concludes. I wonder how consistently she regards DOJ conclusions as apodictic evidence? Or is that like Bush v. Gore and only applies to the current case?

And, Megyn, don’t kid yourself about being a real journalist. You’re not. You’re a Fox News blond. And Fox News is a pure propaganda outfit. Get it? You will NEVER be considered a real journalist. Why? It’s very simple – even for a Faux News “journalist”. Because you work for a propaganda operation, Megyn, not a real journalism outfit. You follow? If you want to be considered a journalist, you have to do journalism – not propaganda.

But it’s too late for you now. You ruined your reputation already by working for Fox. You’re like someone who did the hardest core pornography for years, does one off off Broadway play, and now demands to be regarded as a serious actress. Good luck with that.

You obviously are feeling your oats and think you gained some street cred taking on Trump – but that’s like shooting fish in a barrel. Doesn’t make you a marksman, but you sure shot up those fish! That were in a barrel…

““It can be a crime to lie to an FBI agent. It’s not a crime to lie to Reverend Al.””

Considering the fact that it is documented and even admitted by the district attorney who ran the grand jury that some of the grand jury witnesses were known liars and placed on the stand anyway, including one who claimed to have seen the whole thing and witnesses Brown attacking Wilson, but who was proven to be nowhere near it and had a history of trying to falsely implicate black people in crimes, this whole “I’m gonna put a show of attacking Al Sharpton to give my racist Teatroll audience a tingle” is pretty foolish. Lord knows what Al was thinking even bothering to talk to her or anyone at Faux News.
