I have not watched the videos, so I won’t comment one way or another, but we know, for example the Gulf of Tonkin was not real, and just a ploy to go to war. Could this be the same? Sure. Are those journalists likely dead either way? More than likely. Is it wrong to question the story? Absolutely not.
The one thing that is different today, is due to technology and the internet people are more aware of how film is made and can spot the difference between a fake manufactured video and what’s real more easily. However it also means terrorists could make videos too, real or fake. So it’s an open question. When war is involved it’s probably safe to ask.
