Discussion: Al Gore Declines To Endorse Hillary’s 2016 Run

Discussion for article #242708

Why? Because he didn’t like Bill’s morals?

Al. Al. Al.
If you had stood by the Clintons in 1999, you might have been elected President.

“Al Gore: ‘It’s Still Too Early’ For Me To Endorse Hillary Clinton”

I don’t think he said that TPM.

And then there’s this:
“It’s still too early, in my opinion, to endorse a candidate or pick a candidate,” he told People.
“I think I’ll wait to wade into it.”

You’re bumming me out again Al.

Lost a very winnable election by judging and ignoring his mentor! Still hasn’t learned.
Who cares? Who else would he support? Duh?

Does anyone care?

Not only that, he picked as a running mate the very first Democrat who harshly criticized Clinton.

Sore-Loserman, indeed.

I eagerly await Al’s endorsement, since he has such great judgement:

I think he’s just keeping his (small quantity of) powder dry. Not much use to Hillary if he endorses her at this point. Al Gore is an honorable guy (as far as these things go).

Oooh, Al Gore sux so bad 'cause he won’t endorse Hillary (yet), and he threw away the presidency because he didn’t love him some Bill enough.

To be fair with Gore – IIRC he didn’t announce his endorsement in 2008 (Obama) until much later in the primary season either. I’m okay with that. I think People and TPM both seem to create clickbait headlines here implying the decline is because of his hard feeling against the Clintons when he simply said it was premature for him to pick someone.

(* Now, his VP pick back then is another story. That’s not forgiven!)

Maybe he’s waiting to see if his pal Joe Lieberman gets in the race?

I certainly understand what he means when he calls himself a “recovering politician.”

He’s a smart dem and has moved on to make a difference in America and the planet

In the pitiful otherworld known as the republican party, we have the current crop of grifters who are trying to pad their own pockets.

Who cares?

You are nobody anymore. If you hadn’t ditched the Clintons you might have been president. I mean you couldn’t beat dubya for Christ sakes.

That will be a story worth telling in the history books…

if and when accuracy wins the day.

He lost because Joe Lieberman is and has always been a liar, fraud and douche bag. Have a nice day.

Are undecided voters sitting around with bated breath, waiting to see whom Al Gore will endorse?

Maybe Gore’s waiting to see whom Nixon endorses on the GOP side

Yes, I’m no big fan of Al Gore, but endorsing Hillary does not help Bernie Sanders out. I’m not saying he has to endorse Bernie, he can do as he pleases. The time to get behind Hillary 100% is when she gets the nomination.

My support at this point it for Bernie Sanders, and if asked who I support, I state that. And when the Democrats select a candidate, I will then support that candidate.

I think he lost because he picked Joe Lieberman as a running mate, not because of some pre-existing condition of Lieberman’s.
