Discussion: Air Force Admits Fault In Failure To Report TX Church Shooter's Past Crimes

Let’s not lose sight of the fact here that we’re accepting the fact that in this country, most people have the right to purchase military-style weapons of mass destruction. Why?

This is really inexcusable. The US has very few gun laws and none of those in force currently would have stopped most of these killers, but this was one that actually was barred under current law and yet was allowed to get one by bureaucratic incompetence.

At a news conference in South Korea, President Donald Trump was asked if he would support “extreme vetting” for gun purchases like he’s called for “extreme vetting” for people entering the country. Trump responded by saying stricter gun control measures might have led to more deaths in the shooting because a bystander who shot at the gunman would not have been armed.

“If he didn’t have a gun, instead of having 26 dead, you would have had hundreds more dead,” Trump said.

First, is Trump saying the bystander perhaps should not have been armed if vetted more strictly - since there are probably a lot of people out there who should not have guns? Or that stricter gun laws might - should - prohibit assault weapons?

Second, there weren’t hundreds of people in that little church, Donnie. Stop exaggerating and lying to support your argument.

Third, there were at least empty 15 magazines recovered that held 30 rounds each. He shot over 450 rounds. Human killing ammo, nothing else. A ban on these would make sense, too.

Trump: Clearly this is on Obama and not guns. He allowed discontent in our precious govt where no one communicates with other. Very Very Sad!!

And this would have ended a lot differently if the armed assailant had gotten into the truck, instead of the armed bystander.

26 years old. So he went into the AF at 18 or 19, by 21 he was already beating his wife and child (!) badly enough to get the attention of his commanding officer and a BCD and a year in the stockade. Within a year of the time he got out he was beating up his next partner. And he “seemed like a nice guy”. Texas isn’t sending its best people.

It’s more of a sado-masochism type of relationship, with the GOP in total bondage, and the NRA holding the whip…

Well, without an assault rifle a guy could get stampeded and hooved to death.
