Discussion: After Years Of Turning A Blind Eye, DOJ Moves To Ramp Up FARA Enforcement

Does FARA apply to presidents? And their children? And their sons-in-law?

Enforcing a white collar crime law? Now there’s an idea…

Awesome! Does that mean that the 1962 order that AIPAC register under FARA will finally be enforced?

The Justice Department announced Wednesday that it has brought in a prosecutor formerly with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation to manage its overhauled FARA unit.

That prosecutor, Brandon Van Grack, will oversee the unit as it takes on a newly aggressive posture that may focus more on bringing criminal cases under the statute, which has long been an area of lax enforcement.

This is one of those BFD that on the surface doesn’t seem that way. Like a seaquake far out and deep it will eventually show up as a tsunami. :smiling_imp:

Also, is that Manafort in the photo and why does he have shaving cream on his face? :eyes:

It will be interesting to see how many more Manafort level violations that they uncover. I will bet this send a bunch of lobbyist types running to their lawyers.

It’s about freaking time!

Odd thought: Perhaps the most corrupt administration in our nation’s history will cause the swamp to be drained after all. And as an added bonus, maybe some of the legions of fat cat parasites will finally get to enjoy spending some quality time behind bars.

Only if the myth of “Equal Justice Under The Law” becomes a reality.

Now now.
Remember; “All of the Animals in the Barnyard are equal. Some are just more equal than others.”

How much more equal are they? Well, somehow, 77% of the US Senate voted against the wishes of 75% of their constituents on the issue of BDS…

Now there’s an audience that irasdad should write jokes for.

I don’t get it. Will we all have to blow dry our hair into a mane now? That’s not going to solve the energy crisis.

You should apply the North Korean penalties for unauthorized poster removal.

I wonder how long it will take William “Roy Cohn” Barr to put the kibosh on that.
