Self-centered, greedy, heartless, me-me-me-ism typifies this entire corrupt administration. She is by far one of the worst picks by the GOP to head the Dept. of Educ, but then again, the GOP has no interest in educating the masses. They just want the money that goes to public education diverted to private Xtian religious organizations and wealthy corporate pockets that sponsor the charter school movement and the private prison industrial complex. Its all one of a piece.
That’s also how the GOP maintains permanent control over the rubes in some parts…by keeping the electorate dumb and in the dark with whatever propaganda they can use to justify their actions. They aren’t after waste, fraud and abuse. They create it, and call it “eliminating burdensome regulations”. This is what every fucking Authoritarian regime has done with the peasant class since time immemorial.
While throwing caution to the wind, they’re just as willing to discount and defame any esteemed educator’s expertise that doesn’t agree with their grand plan at social darwinism…so, the next thing to go, paired with freedom of speech, is to finally scapegoat intended targets who are in opposition to all these boneheaded ideas. DeVos comes from a long line of people who believe they are eugenically superior to others. I’ve seen this attitude and approach in MI with her willingness to dismantle public education here and intentionally re-segregate the school system. Forcing disabled students backwards, to the days when they were not given adequate funding for special education in public schools, or where they are being mainstreamed in the classroom as they are today, is another one of her goals.
The power grab has been well underway while the public has been focused on “Stupid Shit TRump Tweets”. Distraction and misdirection has been the ultimate goal. I’d say to some degree, they’re succeeding with people like DeVos making that evil shit stick. Its a fucking shame. It’ll take years to put all these good gov’t policies and rule-making back together again and on-track for a progressive agenda…I just hope its not too late.

The Post reported the change was part of President Donald Trump’s charge to executive agencies in February “to lower regulatory burdens on the American people by implementing and enforcing regulatory reform.”
And just who were the guidelines burdening, Betsy? The disabled kids? Their parents? (better watch out - parents of kids with disabilities are a very organized and vocal group). School administrators? (most school administrators want clarification and guidance on these matters, rather than leaving it to their own guesswork as to how to comply with the laws).
Why doesn’t the so-called Trump Administration just come out and say that they want to get rid of all the progress this country has made since 1960? Because, that’s exactly what they’re doing.

If you intentionally work to harm those you are supposed to be protecting you should be indicted.
Run for office- the 2018 elections are just a year away! And if Trump and Louie Gohmert can get elected what’s to stop a qualified candidate?
Become a Precinct Committee Officer, sometimes it’s a Ward officer. You’ll meet with neighborhood Dems and get out the vote. Find good citizens willing to run for office.
Register people to vote. If you need to help people overcome the GOP-led Voter run-around help them do that.
Run for School Board. Make sure Civics is being properly taught. Think a majority of America knows how government works? Just 26% of eligible voters in America voted for Trump and half of eligible voters stayed home last November. Today’s 12-year olds will be voting for President in 8 years.
Run for Mayor, City Council, County Commissioner, Borough Assembly.
Get appointed to your Planning Commission. Know everything going on in your community.
Run for State Legislature or Congress. The next census is in 2020, just over 2 years from now, then we’ll redraw Congressional Districts. Get rid of GERRYMANDERING! Safe GOP seats gave us such intellectual giants as Louie Gohmert and Steve King. In most cases it’s the state Legislature that draws Congressional boundaries. Make it FAIR, OPEN and HONEST!
Overturn Citizens United. Money is NOT speech and Corporations are NOT people- at least not until Texas executes one.
Overturn any voter ID laws that are clearly an attempt to disenfranchise.

What kind of cold-hearted, dead-eyed person has a problem with regulations ensuring proper guidelines for how schools should treat disabled children? I mean, WHO? Trump’s entire cabinet is filled to the brim with deplorables but, between eliminating guidelines regarding Transgender children, college sexual assault, and now this, DeVos is truly the worst!

“Charter schools” looking to get in on the GOP’s voucher game of destroying the public schools so there’s nowhere left to get an education but a conservative Christian indoctrination center. I would assume these kinds of things drive such conservatives crazy when they are looking for space that can be appropriately retrofitted to accommodate the disabled or trying to build their own new space.
Next up: “Ramps!?!?!?! What do we need ramps for if were not going to allow wheelchair people to attend here anyway???”

Only perfect Aryan physical specimens will be permitted to be educated–too late for Trump.
I recently saw a photo of my old grade school in Chicago, now in an all-black south side neighborhood. Not only is it still deemed a school of excellence with an all black student body the buildings and grounds are in exactly the same perfect shape as when I attended several decades ago. The only difference: a new ramp to accommodate the disabled.
These people of Trump are deeply Nazi.

One of Hillary’s signature accomplishment was getting the laws changed that barred disabled students from classrooms. Of course, Trump wanted to get rid of that.
