So babies = consequences, huh? So much for being for “the sanctity of life” when you consider it a PENALTY!!
The is something really screwed up, and perverted about the idea that sex is bad or dirty, and is supposed to have “consequences “
Limbaugh has been married four times and has no children. He is the king of consequence free sex.
Consequence free sex? You mean Hobby Lobby outlawed Viagra?
Unfortunately, Mrs. Erickson did not engage in “consequence free sex,” and the rest of us must live with the unfortunate consequence.
I will say this for Erickson: at least he is honest. He is articulating what is really at the heart of the whole Hobby Lobby debacle, the religious right’s desire to outlaw anything other than heterosexual intercourse designed to procreate.
He’s aware of consequences, don’t worry. He’s always concerned about the possible resultant pregnancy from sex with Dominican boys.
As Atrios (and digby and plenty of others) says: it has always been about unapproved fucking.
there is a special kind of stupid out there
Leaving aside the toxic hatred these people embody, this is electoral insanity. How’s that “re-boot” goin, Priebus? McConnell? Boehner?
Yeah, that’s about how I thought it was going.
Last time I checked (and, sadly, it’s been a while but I try to stay reasonably informed on these things), it takes a man doing that “certain thing” with a woman to make a baby. When women do that “certain thing” only with themselves or other women, birth control isn’t really an issue.
Conservative republicans are always yelling about Muslims and Sharia laws. Isn’t this what the SCOTUS just did? They actually made a Sharia law which is a religious law about taking rights away from women. It is just a Christian religious law which is the only difference. Religious fundamentalism does not or should not trump over an individuals human rights. A corporation is not a human being and should not have religious rights.
Sigh…Don’t count on it Lizzie. I’ve been voting for about 46 years and I’ve never been surprised by the inanity of the American electorate, male or female, whose collective ability for critical thinking and “dot-connecting” is somewhat less than that of a colony of sessile marine organisms.
Guess we can add the 20th st to the growing list of Constitutional amendments they want to repeal.
Incredible how these assholes use the embedment of their allies in the government establishment to get what they want in lopsided fashion and then shove it down our throats, gloating like privileged high school bullies. Me thinks you should probably SFTU, and stop poking the bear.
Actually Lew?
There are consequences with Viagra.
That sh^t can make you go blind.

Regressive think that other peoples sex is icky.
Obey!
Then consider this the ‘top’ of that ‘slippery slope’-- up next.
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again
Yeah yeah yeah hey

It was NEVER about “contraception” and ALWAYS about controlling the “female parts” of the “sluts”. Just like Jeebus says somewhere in the Bible. They think. Maybe.
Them Women-Folk need to be CONTROLLED you know.
Never forget that all five of the men who voted for the Hobby Lobby case are dedicated conservative Catholic men. This is the Court’s gift to the Catholic Church. It all started with Saul of Tarsus. Back in the beginning a bunch of ascetic 1st century male theologians believed all sex is sinful. Paul had to grudgingly agree with his married followers that sex for the purpose of procreation wasn’t sinful. Two thousand years later the Roman Catholic Church and a bunch of evangelical theologians are still hung up on Saul of Tarsus’ announcement that sex is sinful.
That would explain why I am having trouble seeing all the new hairs growing on my palms.
