They haven’t thought about what to replace it with, but TheRealLucifer is making Republicans comfortable with disrupting 1/5th of the economy, and accelerating the deaths of thousands.
It’s what Republicans stand for – entitlements for the privileged.
Mike invited Rand to help lobby Donnie to convince him that stripping insurance coverage would have no electoral consequences. Donnie said everything FOX said last night and everything his visitor wanted to hear. There will be no information as to Donnie’s position until we see the tweets.

well…maybe the best indicator of all is presidential approval rating.i am convinced by a study i read that concluded ANY rating in the 36-38% range should average a minimum of 40 seats lost…to a high of 70!hence my hope people actually turn out.[/quote]
That may be the conventional wisdom, but something tells me that the 2018 midterms won’t be conventional.
The masses’ displeasure with DT may result in an overwhelming turnout of GOP’ers at the congressional level and further displace the Dems. Are the Dems sufficiently ticked off about 2016? Maybe. Did they learn the lesson about turning out? Maybe. Is voter suppression key? Maybe. There are a lot of maybes in 2018. How do we get to ‘we’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore’?
The flip side, however, is that the goobers who think Big Donnie is doing a bang-up job are more energized than ever. They are a shrinking minority, but as long as they remain undiscouraged (which is not the same thing as encouraged), they’ll turn out at hugely disproportionate rates, just as they did in 2016.
Whether they hang on to their faith until 2018 is anybody’s guess. A lot of stuff can and will happen between now and then. But, I fear it’s going to take an economic downturn that affects them personally to shake some reality–or at least a form of pseudo-reality that has the same functional effect as reality–into them.
So much for being the Bernie of the right. We’re stuck with him for 6 years but I think we can rid ourselves of McConnell in 2020. It’s bad down here in KY, very bad. We’ll get rid of shit for brains Bevin but stuck with him for now but we’ll hopefully take back some seats in Frankfort next year & rein him in. He’s out of control.
To the mighty fine people of Kentucky: We’ve all heard of your plight. Half your state is in such bad shape it’s upped the 50 state drug overdose totals to record level with just West Virginia helping them. But you didn’t stop there… In putting a dwebie phony like Rand Paul in office you’ve fucked the whole county one more time. Just look at what you send to Washington. Maybe that’s why Washington sucks.
Rand Paul’s a dorkie uncertified ophthalmologist that ran a failing practice. Since he couldn’t carry his own load he resorted to using daddy’s name recognition ( and his shtick too ) to get a cush job in DC that pays him damn near 1/4 million a year. He has amazing healthcare benefits that YOU provide him but spends his time trying to take it away from you. It’s OK for the crappie doctor to slide into a government check but not you. Oh no!
The old saying is “you get what you pay for” and everyone seems to get it. Why can’t you get that “you get for what you vote for” as well? What did you think a nasally narrow shouldered platitude spewing doofus of a daddy"s boy was going to do for you?
Rand Paul : I want to pull all Federal Aid out of Kentucky First, cause that is what them hillbillies elected
me to do! Red States are going to be the first to volunteer for Federal Aid Cuts !
I think you are. The energy levels I am seeing among left leaning voters continues to build, and the energy levels I see among right leaning voters is plummeting like a rock. Cook Report just ran an article today, indicating they are seeing the same thing. The early voting in GA-06 is also indicating this trend.
Nor are there any indications that the White House can change this trajectory…even if they knew how. This article for instance, points to one of Trump’s classic traits…the incessant need to relitigate past failures and perceived grievances. They lost on healthcare, in a very public, very embarrassing manner. Ryan…and definitely McConnell…want to move on. But not Trump. He has no interest in any of the actual policies, he just wants that loss blotted out by a win…any win.
Then of course there is the bigger looming storm on the Russian front. Such a scandal, which is only intensifying, not dissipating, impedes the Administration from creating any sort of positive narrative. They are buried in a defensive crouch, INSIDE a bunker. And still taking fire.
Now, putting a pin in all of that…Paul is an idiot here. Trump always agrees with whoever spoke to him last…until he speaks to someone different. There is no sense of permanence there, with regards to policy…because the only policy Trump is interested is, is “look at how great I am”.
Is it amazing that Golf has suddenly become a key word in discussing this President? In business, I began to dread the periodic CEO golfing sessions in which some management were invited and the rest of us were not. Somehow, in meetings after those sessions, something controversial would come up, but those same invitees seemed to be on the same sheet of music. What is discussed in those Golf dates is usually off the record and not for the rest of us to hear. Hated that. More so now.
