No surprise here. Trump always makes everything all about Trump. It’s incredible how Aretha Franklin “worked for him” but Manafort and Cohen never did.

Doubt it. Actually showing up would require a certain kind of … well, let’s call it “guts”, because “courage” certainly isn’t the right word. And he is a craven coward.
Much more likely that he’ll stage some kind of stunt (rally, speech, Twitter outrage, small war…) elsewhere at the same time in an attempt to grab attention and headlines away from McCain.

His attempt to look serious and noble is pathetic. The upward tilt of the chin, eyes narrowed and solemnly thinking of great things - other presidents might pull it off, not 45*. He looks like he hears something odd up there, a little cranky, and the too-long suit sleeves don’t help.

People figured out how to effectivlely diminish the impact on the families at military funerals by Fred Phelps and his little band of misfits – by simply joining together at funerals, including along the route, between the mourners and those who would disrupt the ceremonies.
The country, indeed the world, are doing the same thing here – President “Phelps” is isolated by all the people who accord proper condolences to the family of an American who served his country with honor. McCain’s family sees that and doesn’t need to pay any notice to the guy trying to get the attention turned to himself.

As I understand it, he was disinvited by McCain himself.
I sure wouldn’t want him anywhere near my funeral, in part because I know he’d try to make it all about him.
I can’t wait to visit his grave one day. I’ll stand there laughing, and tramp the dirt down.
Unless I’ve been misreading numerous news stories, Trump was not invited to attend.

I think the NYTimes did it right this time. No mention of T----, at least not at the top of the front page. T---- would rather see bad press than none at all, right? He’s looking to eek out the smallest bit of gain when there’s none to be had, i.e. in this case, how unfairly the press treats him. Better not to mention him at all today.
