Aren’t checks and balances wonderful? Congratulations and many thanks to Acting AG Sally Yates! Now, Democratic and loyal American Republican Senators must deny Jeff Sessions confirmation to be AG.
Refer to NC n Cooper
Incredibly brave move by Sally Yates. As she is ripped apart in rightwing media, I hope the left doesn’t forget to defend her. This won’t end for her when she is replaced at Justice.
“Acting” Attorney General?
Who you gonna believe? The Tweeter in Chief or some actor that Obama left behind?
Actors are all liberal, you know.
Let us now praise Sally Yates who trumpp asked to stay on until the racist from Alabama is confirmed. Thanks donnie.
P.S. No one asked me but I think the phrase should have been written as “acting A.G. ordered Justice Department to not defend” the lunatic.
@caltg We shouldn’t count on any R senators to vote no on Session’s confirmation. They’ll be in trouble with turtle if they do.
Mr. Trump is certain to react strongly to the open defiance to his
authority.
We know what that means, first the firing, then the late night tweeting about the firing. Maybe even a mention of her gender
Good for Sally Yates! Sure it’s a largely symbolic gesture. But it was the right thing to do. It was brave and it is a balm for our suffering witness.
LOL…so many heads are popping over at Faux News in response to this haha…
Monday Night Massacre. How many people will Bannon have to can to reach someone who will defend that misbegotten EO?
You may be right, but by my count there are 11 Republican Senators openly opposed to the EO, many with considerable seniority in the Senate. All the Dems have to do is stay unanimous and lure three of those Repubs. to vote “no” and Sessions is history as far the AG office is concerned. Stranger things have happened.
Bravo!! Bloviating is easy, governing is not. Trump seems to have a learning disorder.
I hope you’re right, and yes these are strange times.
Boudica-cious!
When do we get to see Judith and her servant?
Where is Robert Bork when they need him?
Sadly, I doubt they will need him …
Oh. Neat.
New York Times says Trump has the authority to fire Sally Yates, but she is the only one authorized to sign foreign surveillance warrants.
The Great Clusterfuck™
To be sure. With the Acting AG, a growing number of ambassadors and career diplomats, a growing number of members of Congress, and some Defense Department officials objecting to the EO, there appears to be an open revolt in the U.S. Government. Trump cannot fire them all.
He will sure try.
