Discussion: Accuser: Mississippi Attorney General Wrong, I Wasn't Paid To Lie

Discussion for article #226285

There’s a good reason why the State Motto of every other Southern State is: “Thank God We’re Not Mississippi!”

Oh lord. The name salad again. I’ve lost track of who is who,who paid who and who said what.

So did he lie? Was he paid to lie, or was he paid to play-act a hypothetical which happened to be untrue? Was he paid to play-act and did he deliver as promised? Or was he paid to play-act and did he not only deliver, but also lie for free, as a value-added bonus? I’m not grasping all the nuances.

There’s nothing wrong with Mississippi that a good category 5 hurricane, coupled with some serious sea level rise, can’t fix. I don’t often find myself rooting for global warming, but…

Oh what a tangled web we weave…

They still haven’t explained what McDaniels crew was doing locked in the courthouse in the middle of the night.

Even his mustache is sketchy.

Wait, what? I guess this is the nuisance defense at work.

Nice objective photo selection there, TPM.

Also, I see I’m not the only one who is confused, and I’m not bothering to jump back into that mess of an article. I wish Mr. Strauss would read the NY Times on his days off.

“I never said what I said!”

How many times are Teabaggers are going to try and pull this dodge?

So let me get this straight- Johnson freely admits he paid for a story that would have been worthless if the man had said anything other than ‘Person X wanted me to buy votes for Candidate Y’.

And somehow this makes Johnson’s activities legitimate?

Can"t they settle this like Mississippi gentlemen – with dueling pistols?
