Discussion: ABC News: Mueller And Manafort Reach 'Tentative' Plea Deal To Avert Second Trial

Just brainstorming. This had to come from Manafort’s lawyers, not the leakproof Mueller ship. Which suggests “just rattling Trump’s cage to shake that pardon loose” as a highly likely possibility.

As I said in an earlier reply, this had to come from Manafort’s lawyers, not Mueller. Giant salt lick block from farm supply store recommended.

(Okay, that metaphor is likely totally lost on the city slickers here.)

A deal pretty much has to include cooperation.

Nothing in it for Mueller to make the deal otherwise.

How much does anyone want to bet that the ink on his pardon from Hair Furor will still be wet when he pleads out…

  1. I wonder what Derispka is going to say tommorow.

  2. Re: Oscar possibly running

I wonder how much should I bet on a Mayweather tweet making a Trump tweetstorm worse.

Isn’t this what Cohen did? One question: if Manafort does plead guilty to all counts, does that bust him out of jail until the sentencing hearing (late december/early january)? He’s a flight risk, but he was still a flight risk while under house arrest until he allegedly committed witness tampering.

Remember when we called them “vanity” candidates?

If done with a stipulation to Manafort’s cooperation, more indictments will occur sooner rather than later. (I hope  )

Unsurprisingly, Abramson is the first legal Twitterati out of the gate with an thread of some interest.

An accepted pardon means Manny has to testify against Two-Scoops.

That’s why there was never going to be one.

No, you can straight up plead guilty to everything and throw yourself on the mercy of the court. This is the standard pre-trial guilty plea which is the resolution for some 90+% of federal cases. If Mueller believes there’s a pardon in his future, why not skip the cost of trial and possibly even regain some liberty until sentencing?

I would say no. I am sure that Mueller thought of this.
