I always think of the last chapter of “Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets.” It’s told from the point of view of a stupid young murderer who thinks he can outsmart the homicide cops, only to have his feeble alibis effortlessly destroyed one after the other. None of these ratfuckers were ever really up against it, and there’s something wrong with them that makes them fail to understand how doomed they are.

Swiftboat: 
Nice “Big Lie” style conspiracy that, combined with Rathergate documents, made a sizable number of people believe a war hero was a coward and vice versa.
Birther: As conspiracy theories go, this one was rather low energy. Too easy to disprove and really simply an attempt to exploit existing racist assumptions.
Pizzagate: This theory had it all! Pedophiles! Presidential candidates! Pizza!
“Gramps” Corsi deserves some credit, but clearly the art form has moved on and left him behind.

I’m going to bet that there will be a need for a Venn Diagram to help explain all this in the near future.
This is my theory “The Convergence of Monkey Business.” There will be a circle with Russian/Putin set, the Stone/Corsi set, and finally the Trump set. All these bad actors came together for their own unique purposes to destroy, disrupt, and to enrich. Some of these sets worked closely with each other, and other flitted in and out of other sets.

I mean, I know Corsi’s a Harvard guy and all but jeeze, he doesn’t seem to have grasped the basic fact that he’s in the sights of a couple dozen of the best prosecutors and investigators alive. You can’t tell them laughable stories like that and not expect to have your hide nailed to the barn door. It’s absurd.
