I especially liked him in Flight with Denzel Washington.
It doesnât matter how distant the Obama connection is⌠trump will go out of his way to damage to even the memory of Obama. It could be a solid good thing the country likes or something vital to our national interests or a street named for him. ⌠trump would seek to ruin it. His hatred of Obama runs that deep. And itâs because Obama kidded him at the Annual Correspondentâs Dinner a couple years ago. trump has never gotten over that.
Iâm not surprised Roseanne is a trump supporter, given her personality.
Heâs reading the newly minted 10 Commandments, gets to the part about not lying with another manâs wife, when Bill Clinton pops up saying the wording is ambiguous, it might be ok if theyâre standing up, and would he please double-check with Godâ
Hate sells. Know a personâs inner daemons and you can control them. The Right are master marketers because they know this.
Keep heart and reason. even in darkness.
Well, my mom, as left wing as they come, was super excited to see what they were going to do with the show. She has to deal with those attitudes all the time in real life. But she was also really torn because she didnât want to support her in any way. So she watched one episode.
To put a visual to your commentâŚ
FOX-TV will pick it up in a nanosecond, and it should. We should be able to separate the âartâ from the âartist.â
Also predictable: watch people who donât understand the 1st Amendment claim that her 1st Amendments rights were violated by ABC.
Iâve liked him in almost everything heâs done.
Yeah the ending of that movie sort of belied the entire rest of the movie. It suddenly became more than a little comedic and celebratory over how well the drugs worked.
I had to watch it twice to get the real comedown - the attendantâs death and the fact that he caused the whole thing.
They had just renewed the show. No, they werenât looking to back out on the show. That weeknightâs shows were all supposed to highlight each other. Tuesday?
I wonder if Disney will show the reruns.
The production crew, writers, and such, they arenât employed by a specific show, they work for the production company, the studio, or the network. Theyâll get reassigned to another show.
The on-air cast, many of them were juggling filming schedules to make it happen anyway. None of them will be without a show any longer than they want to be.
Comment about having to buy out her production contract, nope. Cancelled show means cancelled everything, money to the production company stops immediately ⌠itâs not âletâs negotiate a buy-outâ. Only thing that ever changes in that equation is if there are completed episodes that hadnât aired yet, and thatâs not the case here.
Netflix or Hulu wonât touch it, they know they would lose more subscribers than theyâd gain; again reference House of Cards and the Kevin Spacey incident.
ABC and This Week ⌠nope, ABC News is totally separate from ABC Entertainment. Think about Seth McFarland and The Simpsons bashing Fox News on their shows and no pressure to change the content. They even joke of the fact that they can get away with it!
So donât sweat the crew or the cast, they wonât be hurt by this. ABC probably loses more $$ than they gain in reputation, because they have to refund the advertisers that had paid for the summer reruns.
I agree with that but in this case there is no separation - her character is her.
This has to be a publicity stunt!
How could anyone believe a very well-off, white Trump supporter that plays to everyone publicly as so reasonable (and actually maybe even likeable and funny) is actually, when left to disperse her unfiltered secret impulses ⌠a racist and, (dare I say it?) âdeplorable.â
The show is a moneymaker so another network/cable purveyor will pick it up. Perhaps FOX-TV.
Her show had two very good actors, John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf who will have no trouble finding work, especially Metcalf who is right now appearing in a play on Broadway. TV sitcoms pay big bucks, but itâs better not to be associated with a racist than take the money.
I really donât think any other network or broadcaster will pick it up.
Think about what she said - itâs really not open to interpretation - it is simply beyond the pale in every conceivable way.
Her agent has fired her.
Donât be so sure. Picking up the show would be like eating rat poison.
Todayâs the day Starbucks is closing its stores so its employees can be updated on how to treat people of color, that is, shut the fuck up about them and donât call police when you seen one standing around. Media is doing the right thing around a woman whoâs a known racist. Forget that sheâs a trumpp supporter. She remains a racist, thatâs why he was praising the show.
Know how you spell toxic? Barr. Sheâs done.
Yes. And thank god since she was way way way past her sell-by date.
He was great in the Big Labowski! And Oh, Brother, Where Arât Thou?
