Discussion: A Few Questions Were All It Took For Scott Brown To Bail On Sketchy Florida Company

Why would he be so stupid, and think that this ‘arrangement’ wouldn’t be discussed in the press? He really is dim, isn’t he? Does he think the voters of NH would let this just pass?

Wow.

That this stuff is so blatant and easily identified suggests that, SB is actually too stupid to be Dog Catcher, let alone Senator.

interesting…
So in September, the company had given Brown stock worth $1.3 million.
The stock’s value has fallen by half since Brown got his stash.
And then this week he said he was - “relinquishing all my rights to the restricted stock that has been granted me, effective immediately.”

It would be interesting to know how the IRS will view this - it will depend on the type of stock grant he received - there are certain kinds of grants that are viewed as taxable at the time of the grant & based on the price at the time of the grant - other grants only become taxable at the time they are exercised. If the former were the case, he could have been on the hook for as much as $450,000 to $500,000 for the grant of $1.3M in stock … which would really suck - 'cause the grant is now worth less than $650,000 … Possibly the best move was to hand the whole mess back to the company and say no, thanks… provided it was done correctly - and assuming that IRS regs for that type of grant will allow him to relinquish the grant with no tax obligation.

Brown probably only did this because he figured he was finished in politics so why not make as much money as possible…even with a shady penny stock scam.

But then some geniuses convinced him he still could make it if he just moved to New Hampshire.

Now he’s really toast…anyone who paid attention knew he was an empty suit but this just fills the suit with stupid!

“Grenade launchers that never actually never existed.”

You had me at “grenade launchers.”

Scott Brown did real estate closings and divorces out of a home office before he hit the US Senate jackpot. He is as close to an attorney of repute, desired by high end clients and firms, as a Dunkin Donuts sandwich preparer is to Mario Batali and his chain of high end NYC Italian eateries. OTOH, to his credit, he did manage to go from budding juvenile delinquent, to law school graduate and bar passing attorney which is a lot more than I can lay claim to.

Bold, strategic vision…

“They are, like many other start up companies, they’re going through a transition,” Brown said. “They’re trying to create jobs, ultimately they’ll come up with a plan to do so.”

Because, “it’s gotta be all about job creation…all those things under the umbrella of job creation” as a wise woman once said.

The usual response #24: Scott Brown isn’t a “Real” Conservative. In fact he’s a RINO.

is it another centerfold shoot?
oh goody!!!

Dang, they just told me my long-range USB mascara was on backorder!

Ex-Senator Thongshorts will soon be trading his Plain Folks pickup truck for a lobbyist’s limo on K Street, 'cos he’s sure not going to be a Senator again anytime soon.
