Because GOTP politicians are owned by two different masters - the actual Big Business that literally owns them, and Fundie Nutjobs who that have to pander to if they want to get reelected so that they can remain useful to their True Actual Owners.

Most is simply to keep their base riled up for the November ballot. Look, look how the Democrats want to force how you live and who you associate with, with a reinforcement of base bigotry.

It’s a jobs bill as businesses must hire door persons, at minimum wage, to check for approved folks as they enter the premises.
