That’s been the argument made by people for some time now. The statistics show that, especially, women and children are more likely to be killed by someone they know (usually husband, boyfriend, etc) than a stranger.
Unfortunately, the NRA will say nothing, Republicans will say it’s not the time to discuss this, and will try pushing through legislation promoting more guns on the streets.

Thoughts and prayers are a good distraction, but no substitute for a Congress that gave a bit of a damn. Unfortunately we don’t have the latter.

It has been so for years now: it’s just that it’s not widely reported out of large urban communities with high percentages of poor and minorities. TPM could do these stories multiple times per day if it reached out to America large concentrations of humanity. But when they happen in the rural isolated parts, or in suburbs, they get way more attention because the innocent victims are most like to be folks that a majority of American news consumers can identify with, just a picture or a few words.

Gosh. I wish there was some idea someone would come up with to reduce the likelihood of so many mass shootings in our country. I can’t figure out what in the world we’re doing differently from all those countries that don’t have mass shootings.

I cannot even keep track of where and when these mass shootings occur anymore. I am getting numb from this epidemic of terror caused by guns, guns and more guns. It must end!!
