Just In: Chris Christie thinks they reached the wrong conclusion.
wow, it’s a foreign feeling to hear about justice actually being allowed to come to fruition. all the bad news of corruption and racism in our LEO’s and Lawyers…and from South Carolina of all places we get a sliver of hope. I’ll take it!
I am glad that cop brutality is finally gaining steam in the media. It’s time to put these asshats in their place.
The Justice Department cleared Combs, and state investigators began reviewing the shooting in March 2013.
No, this is not technically correct. The Justice Department did not charge him with civil rights violations, it did not clear him of anything else like murder.
Combs indicted
Anybody think he will be convicted?
Good ole SC screws up a LOT but gives me hope to see this happen, especially given recent events nationally.
More than likely.
I didn’t think I’d ever say this about them, but good for SC.
So true. It makes me feel a little better.
Who knows - but this is at least encouraging
Yup, nice to see justice work as it should rather than how it’s been rigged.
BTW, nice shirt. I wonder who is wearing it, but I guess I’ll never know since TPM has apparently outlawed photo captions.
Wow. I’d have never expected South Carolina to lead the way in this.
Just goes to show you, if PROSECUTORS want to get an indictment out of a grand jury, it happens. Ham sandwich.
We may screw things up a lot in the south, but it’s still true that “the north is not the administering physician, but the next patient in line.”
Will you call them asshats when you need them? I’ve known a lot of police. Some are asshats. Some aren’t.
I just had a fairly long conversation today with an officer who’s looking forward to retirement so he and his wife can go to the Galapagos Islands. Turns out, they’re fascinated with Darwin, life sciences and that sort of thing. I’ve known the guy for a couple of years and I’ve seen him handle a few dicey situations with wisdom and equanimity. And he’s a nice, approachable guy.
Your stereotypes don’t become you.
This is how you fix the problem. GJ, SC.
Wow. A nickel of good into a pot of a thousand dollars. Kinda like the one first step of a 1000 mile journey. A start nonetheless.
Who woulda suspected SC to be the national leader on this issue?
Each case is unique. To claim that any of these show a “trend” illustrates you see what you want to see. I would be appalled if any of these cops were indicted for any other reason than evidence that they had done something criminal. And all of you self-proclaimed lovers of right should be ashamed for assuming the system is always wrong when it fails to indict someone you want to see pilloried.
Has anybody heard of any recent trend in increased intelligence in the South Carolina jury pool?
