This will raise tensions in NYC for the cops. This guy was basically ambushed by the guy with the gun.
Well I do hope the piece of shit that goes by the name Demetrius Blackwell suffers the rest of his life.
Sad story, but you suspect a guy has a gun and you just pull along side in your car and exchange words? Guess I’d be too paranoid to be a cop.
I hope the guy gets what’s coming to him, though.

Fortunately, criminals are generally very, very stupid. From the New York Times story:
Ninety minutes after the shooting, officers arrested Demetrius Blackwell, 35, at a house a block from the scene of the shooting…
and:
After more than a day of searching, the gun used in the shooting was found by detectives on Monday morning near some rubble in a backyard that officials said was along the short route they suspected Mr. Blackwell took after the shooting. The gun, a .38-caliber revolver, had two live bullets and three expended casings.
Yup, a real criminal mastermind at work, there.
They were plain clothes in an unmarked car too. I’d like to see more details, but not sure at this point if their approach was correct. But there might have been a reason they approached and spoke, we’ll see.
Ummm, he will never see the outside of a prison again. And that is a good thing.
