I’m disconsolate that, once again, they have overlooked Louie Gohmert.
Congrats to the winners.
And here I am regluing the soles on my old hiking boots because I don’t want to spend $200-plus on new ones. Does that foundation have any idea how many pairs of hiking boots you can buy for $625,000? Hmf. So hint to committee—I’m not well known outside my field. Hope that helps love ya bye.
And Paul Ryan! HE’S a genius! Everybody on “Fox & Friends” says so!
Im puzzled. That is a picture of Elyn Saks, who did not win a grant this year, but won in 2009…
Vasques?
At this point I would like to postulate that scoring genius on a test and being and genius are two subtly different things.
But what a wonderful grant. This makes me feel good
They didn’t have a picture of Sarah Plain
Nah, these are an old pair of H.H. Brown hikers in a traditional leather style they don’t make anymore. Kinda like the Bean Cresta hiker too. The modern-style ones are great performers but they just don’t have that look.
Just in case it has slipped people’s minds – and they SHOULD be reminded, 138 Republiscum in the House of Representatives and 22 Republiscum Senators voted against the Violence Against Women Act.
A number of these people, like Senator Roberts, are running for re-election. A couple of the Republiscum Senators opposed VAWA because they felt that it interfered with a purported constitutional right of white men to sexually assault native American women with impunity and immunity.
I sympathize. Is it an accident that so much footwear cannot be re-soled these days? I’d vote a genius grant to the person who invents super-long-lasting hiking boot soles.
Here’s an interesting take on this whole study
