13, 14 and 15 pretty much eliminated the 10th, I do believe.
But, according to the prevailing argument, to sell or not to sell would be at the discretion of the seller in citing their âdeeply heldâ religious beliefs. The Supreme Court is going to get a taste of the olâ slippery slope argument when the hear these cases.
Unless Iâve missed one, the anti-gay bakers all lost their cases. Hobby Lobbyâs winning argument was about employees, not customers.
Absolutely.
Sounds like a crisis actor to me
Dicks should say itâs a religious objection for them and all would be OK.
Couldnât happen to a better crew.
But if he had walked into a christian bakery and asked for a gun-shaped cake?
Yay, another embarrassing asshole from my state.
Be glad youâre not from Oklahoma.
Oregon sued the shit out of the anti-gay bigot bakers and won.
Not really understanding how dipsh*tâs counsel proves to the court that their client has suffered some sort of injury due to Dickâs actions. He still retains his 2nd Amend. rights only that he canât exercise them at Dickâs. Whatâs the problem - oh, other than NRA stunt.
Maybe not. When I first heard the announcement from Dickâs and Wal*Mart it seemed inevitable that they would be sued.
Exactly. Heâs not in a protected class, so discrimination is okey-dokey. The protected class for age is people over 40.
Age isnât a protected class and there isnât really any such thing as age discrimination. Otherwise why couldnât 15 year olds claim it was discrimination that they arenât allowed to drink?
I donât think this will win, especially if it keeps going through courts.
âYour honor, it is my deeply-held religious belief that kids under 21 years old cannot hit a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle. Not even with the finest telescopic sights. Perhaps Hobby Lobby can sell him the parts necessary to make a wooden practice gun that he can play with until heâs 21.â
maybez, maybe not
Though it wasnât their 1st case that involved the 14th, gotta remember that the Supremes shat the bed, as it related to this particular one.
Gunmen get punitive damages.
Law-abiding Americans get to buy body bags for their children.
An utterly transparent attempt by the gun lobby to create a âcivil rightâ on the thinnest of pretexts. Are they really going to argue that this 20 yr old is on the same moral plane as Rosa Parks and that he was forced to go to the back of the âgun buyers busâ because of his age?
For their next trick, they are going to claim that this 20 yr old has the same as standing as a gay couple being refused a wedding cake by a bakery based on the cake makerâs religious beliefs.
(This will be their next claim, wait for it.)
The level of misguided self entitlement on display here is limitless. If we could pump them to a refinery and make fuel out it our energy problems would be fixed - and their complaints would finally be used for a productive end.
Simple solution: Walmart and Dickâs in Oregon should just start selling marijuana.
