And yet, why do I have the feeling that more than a few RW talking heads will use this as “proof” that same-sex marriage doesn’t work/is a farce/should be stopped/(something something Judeo-Christian values something something FREEDUM)?

marriage equality for all, everyone deserves the highs and lows that comes with it. LGBT also deserves to feel what its like to go thru a divorce and it is not a walk in the park.

Given the level of hetro divorce I think even Republicans might choke on this bit of hypocrisy

People marry, people divorce, gay or straight it’s life.

Trust me, we knew that access to divorce laws were part of tha package, and those laws really are one of the “benefits” we were looking for. Dealing with breakups and dis-solutions of long-term relationships is nothing new for same-sex couples. We didn’t suddenly learn about the pain of having your marriage break up because those marriages are now legally recognized. It’s just now we have access to a legal structure to fall back on, however flawed that structure is, when the fit his the shan.
