Discussion: 1,200-Plus Law Professor Sign Letter Asking Senate To Oppose Kavanaugh

And yet the polling shows more R’s are becoming activated to vote because they agree with the clown in chief that Kavanaugh has been mistreated. Yet another sad day for the USA in a long line of sad days.

So, somebody game this out for me: K gets voted in with 51-53 votes, even as growing large numbers of acquaintances and/or professionals publicly oppose him and/or pull their endorsements to an unprecedented degree. Are the 5-4 rulings with him in majority widely regarded as illegitimate? What would that mean practically speaking?

Aw damn, if they had just one more, 1201, they might take a pause.

The only public opinion that will really have an impact is at the ballot box. Throw the bums out!

A further collapse of the values and norms that make a representative democracy work. Further divides that make life difficult for generations to come.

The Supreme Court could lose its legitimacy. Imagine Roe is overturned but medical professionals continue to perform abortions. The gov. police try to arrest the providers and patients but they are confronted by 100,000 citizens protecting the providers and patients…

Ultimately, the Court’s rulings are honored because of the consent of the governed. If that goes away then the whole representative democracy is in jeopardy.
