The Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general refused recommendations by career staffers to probe the agency’s handling of protests at Lafayette Square and the spread of the coronavirus in its ranks, according to a Washington Post report on Tuesday.
Cuffari needs to go. What did he think was more important that taking all possible precautions to prevent Covid from infecting the Secret Service? Think what you like about Trump, they ran the risk that Trump himself might get infected…oh…wait.
The problem with DHS is that it has half a million employees. That’s what people should take note of. An agency whose purpose was to coordinate communication among the intelligence agencies has grown to this huge behemoth that is getting to be beyond anyones control. It needs to be scaled back to its original mission…now.
We cannot normalize this behavior. Our country was in morning and the former guy went full Il Duce. Where a responsible president would lead, he sought to suppress. I won’t rest easy until he’s fully left this mortal coil.
DHS, a GOP-only organization founded by a Republican President after the greatest military intelligence failure in the history of the country.
The mint these departments and they set them in stone for their side. Nobody will spend Fed money faster than a Republican. The scolding is all about saying whatever it takes to get their hands back on the money.
Seems to me that anytime the President of the United States is involved, directly, that prolly should be kinda high up the importance pole, don’t cha think?
Replacing IG’s is a bit touchy I know, but still, Trump appointee’s just really need to go. They can go back and demonstrate that their oath is to the Constitution and not a racist narcissistic psychopath, and then maybe they can get promotions when weighed past performance under Trump against before and after Trump, but it doesn’t sound like this one will re-earn his IG place.
This whole Orwellian Big Brother Department we call DHS needs to be carved up. The reason for creating it was that agencies weren’t communicating with each other, AKA protecting their turf. But by having this mega agency with so many spheres of responsibility isn’t working out either.
I have no problem with an agency that coordinates intelligence between agencies that dont always play nice and share. They don’t need to be doing anything else.
Strategic, huh? I suppose you could call it that. I could think of a few other terms to describe abject cowardice and dereliction of duty but that’s just me.
