Despite Some GOP Lip Service, McConnell Says $2K Check Vote Has ‘No Realistic Path’ | Talking Points Memo

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Wednesday announced that there was “no realistic path to quickly pass” $2,000 per-person stimulus checks, seemingly dooming the effort.

“The Senate is not going to be bullied into rushing out more borrowed money into the hands of Democrats’ rich friends who don’t need the help,” McConnell said.

Fuck you, Yertle. You filthy rich SOB.

There’s no realistic way to keep this ship afloat, says the guy who just fired the torpedo.

AGI limited to $75k for one, or $150k for a married couple.

Does he think we have forgotten the tax cuts for the 1%?

A man with no moral core at all. It’s all power politics. If someone threatened to murder him for his lunch money, just because they can, Mcconnell would have no moral principle on which to object.

Yes, yes he does.

McConnell really messed this up for his party. He’s fumbled the ball badly. He didn’t have the stones to put his own bill on the floor and has now given Ossoff/Warnock the best possible closing argument: ‘vote for us and we finna’ get you yo’ money…like tomorrow!’ Has there ever been a more tangible sales pitch for a pol? If GA voters give Ossoff and Warnock clear wins and they get seated in the Senate the next day, this bill gets passed probably that day. It becomes law and people get paid.

We look like fools when we are up against Moscow Mitch.
He is brilliant at what he does.
Evil, yes, but brilliantly evil.
If Georgia doesn’t go for the two Dems,
The next two years (at least) will be like the last two days.
President Mitch McConnell.

I am sure Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue will give him a piece of their mind…

I suspect that he may not be as successful at total nihilism this time around. I think some GOP senators are fed up - especially those up in 2022.

Lemme see if I got this straight. He’s not even going to bring his bill with the poison pills up for a vote?

Interesting. Trump keeps claiming that he won the election to succeed himself as “president,” but now he cannot even control his own caucus. Donnie is turning out to be the lamest of lame ducks.

So how long can Sen. Sanders delay the vote to override Trump’s veto of the defense bill?

Some Kentucky republicans aren’t too smart. Only the rich ones.

We accept this behavior at our leisure.

Either he’s seen some really good internals out of Georgia, or he’s stupider than we thought

I believe until Saturday.

So, a couple more days of Mitch saying you don’t need relief, a couple more days Loeffler and Purdue are stuck in DC instead of campaigning.

Not gonna pee until Mitch dies. Not gonna.
When he does, I’m going to his grave.
